You can rent hotels rooms for half a day. Nice ones too.

Or to a National Park?

WTF is this thread.

Yes of course I have. I want to know of a really good one. Some of the ones near me are not that nice enough to sit in for hours. I haven’t been to the Pimmit Hills one in ages and I thought it’s not a full library anymore?

I don’t really want to go outside in the cold rainy snow!

Not a bad idea

Asking because I’m the same and this is why I don’t invite people for overnight/extended stays over holidays.

It’s not up to me/not my choice. I’m not going to say no. I enjoy them but need space that’s not errand running

I go to client sites a lot for work and whenever I have a couple hours in between, I head to the nearest public library.

We had a "favorite library branch" thread in the book club forum. Some of the posts have pictures.

Can you still go sit in a Barnes and Nobles?

The Panera near me has a gas fireplace and good WiFi. They don’t care how long people stay - just buy a coffee and a muffin or whatever.

Private space to work/relax/nap but you can also use the gym, pool, restaurant, etc if that interests you.

You may even be able to rent a meeting room at a library for a few hours and have it all to yourself.

I know someone who goes to a cemetery when they need alone time. She said you can just sit on a bench for as long as you want and no one bothers you or acts like that is a weird thing to do. She said sometimes she sits there and cries for an hour, and no one thinks that is a weird thing to do in a cemetery either.
