Political Discussion
Lets not try to say they brought honor to those institutions themselves or that Trump even had the grades for it. The people they support are definitely against higher education and they support them in this stance and they are actively trying to dismantle education in the US at all levels. |
The waters keep rising and it's harder and harder to stay above while you let them eat cake. Living at the top of heap isn't so pretty when it's a heap of garbage. |

If you are Christian you can share this video that describes what is going on in politics. Don't live in hate even for people who are against you. Live the life of your own calling.

A University President has an administrative job, not an active scholar job. Let's go back 35 years to President Rudenstine, when men were men. He had no notable academic achievement. But for some reason it was OK when he did it https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Rudenstine Gay's plagiarism was in the boilerplate technically explanation of how to read statistics, not her research |
You're defending plagiarism for the leader of a leading educational institution. You're putting politics above values like truth. The fact is Gay was never qualified to teach anywhere, let alone at Harvard. She had to cheat to create a fig leaf of academic achievement to justify her unearned promotion to Harvard President. |
| If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again? |
PP here. While I agree with this I'm unclear what I can do to change that. Thankfully between inheritance from our parents plus what we will add to it when we die, our kids and grandkids and hopefully great grandkids should all be fine if they don't squander it. That's all I can do (plus keep voting for who I think has the right message.) |
My kids can plainly see that Trump is a horrible, despicable excuse for a human being and that no one with any sense or morals would vote for him. They share their confusion with people from most other countries in the world. |
American Evangelical Christianity has reduced itself to a partisan political party. |
+100 Which is why Democrats need to pivot HARD to become the party that separates church and state. Actively pursue policies with this agenda - no more tax breaks for religious orgs, no more Catholic SC, no more religion in our politics. Many people who voted for Trump are not religious at all and are deeply uncomfortable with the level of power that radicalized hardright Protestants and Catholics have in his next Administration. This is by far the biggest potential cleavage within Trump's motley crew that can be exploited. This country's electorate is rapidly rejecting religion in their personal lives. |
| Go to college abroad, and don’t come back here…. I’ll join you wherever you end up. Can’t be worse than this country. |

All these pro Trumpers ignoring his many many immoral behaviors were absolutely beside themselves that Clinton had a consensual blow job with someone not his wife.
But Stormy Daniels? No problem. Grab em by the pussy? No problem. 3 wives? No problem. |
Disagree. How would this help anything or help your sons? Instead of religion they will have what to follow exactly? Politics? How does this relate to the topic about what to tell our sons? You want to tell your sons to follow politics instead of religion and give tax breaks instead to whom exactly? Why? Why wouldn't you teach them to actually do something good in the world and just beware of wolves in sheeps clothing. Just because some people want to corrupt the government or religion does not make either inherently bad. I don't think the non-religious or the antigovernment is any more moral as a group than those that believe in government and religion. It's a person by person issue. They are just mechanisms where humans are working together on something and their flaws show as a group. These same flaws exist without religion and government. |
And affair partners that got pregnant while married where it was implied an abortion happened after. |
Trump will go down and one of the greatest politicians and leaders of all time. And just like the rest of them, he has many moral and character flaws. Trump was elected for his command and leadership- that’s it. The rest is largely irrelevant. |
