Seeing Trump being rewarded with the highest office in the land, is this what we now tell our sons?
It's ok to lie to get what you want. It's ok to promise to pay someone for goods or service, and then don't. It's ok to sexually assault women. It's ok to cheat on your partner. It's ok to mock the disabled and refuse them help, saying they'd be better off dead. It's ok to disrespect our military. It's ok to invent a medical condition to get out of doing something you don't want to do. It's ok to form your opinions from people who tell you what you want to know, rather than doing your own rigorous research. It's ok to disrespect and threaten those whose opinions differ from yours. It's ok to cheat at golf. It's ok to praise bullies. It's ok to associate with racists. It's ok to alter your book-keeping so you don't financially contribute to society. |
| I told my son that as a white person and a as a boy/man he will have an unfair amount of power and he needs to stand up for the rights of other people. |
| I told my 15-year-old son that he can help correct this in 2028. |
| *sorry for the typo! But I really did tell him that yesterday and I don’t think it’s being too “woke” to tell him how other people are affected by Trump’s words and actions and that he needs to act differently. |
Good one |
| You live in a country where most people want security: both physically and financially. |
Same. |
| Some drama queens up in here! |
| Hopefully, you will not be shipped off to war anytime soon. |
| And Rush Limbaugh at the same time as my family member demeaning him all the time for morality. Why isn't anyone on the right going after Trump for the same issues they accused Clinton of then? |
2026. |
| As women, it is our job to raise our sons to reject and oppose toxic masculinity. |
We tell our sons how Democracy works. Not perfect but better than all alternatives. And drop the drama. |
| Trump's election was so confusing. I mean you go to the playground with your children. 90% of the moms or dads or caregivers that I see discipline behavior like pushing and grabbing and name calling an insulting and being mean to the other kids in the playground. I don't see any one raise their kids to be like Trump and yet they want him to be in power over their kids. It's very difficult to understand. |
You don't understand national chauvinism. You don't understand that community is local and that strangers are the enemy. |
