All of this. My friends, hell even some of my family, doesn't know what my political views are. I'm pretty much right down the middle but I don't advertise that to anyone. I have no need to put up signs to show my support to anyone. |
The Young Republican club at my kid's HS outnumbers the Young Democrats club by about 4-1. |
Haha those boys will grow up and realize their mistake. Or that no woman under 65 will date them! |
Ehh, they don't want to date those liberal nut cases anyway. The young women with the money will have no problem dating them. |
| I am liberal and I live in a very blue area devoid of Trump signs too, OP, but unlike you I have been to other parts of the country that are not in a blue bubble which is why today I’m devastated but 0% surprised. America is going to America and America wanted Trump. It was easy to see. Unlike others I don’t think it even necessarily has that much to do with people not liking Harris, which many don’t, or not wanting to elect a black woman, which many don’t, but more with this country’s fixation on Trump. People of all ages and races seem to really like him. I don’t understand it but it’s kind of obvious if you leave the DMV and northeast/west coast bubbles. |
Elites felt o.k. with shipping decent paying jobs out of the US. So...that's a big part of it. It's not just men who are voting this way. We sacrificed small town America and blue collar jobs on the altar of globalization because academic economists and wealth holders thought it would turn out fine. The payback started with Reagan Democrats and it hasn't ended. |
There's your answer right there. Leave the bubble of the coast. It's a vastly different story almost everywhere else. |
| All Trump in southeastern PA |
Trump got 19% of the vote in Arlington. |
| Fox News & Joe Rogan are partly to blame. |
Last gasp of the old dudes? I don't think so. Trump won the youth vote. |
| L O S E R… sorry |
Except that young men 18-24 are big Trump supporters. |
|
I voted for Harris, but I can see why some men voted for Trump. Instead of lifting everyone up, liberals have spent the last decade pointing a finger at white men. I have dear friends who have made terrible generalizations about white men. Things they’d never say about any other group. These friends probably don’t even remember, but it is a flashbulb memory for me. As a mother of sons, it was shocking.
I don’t understand how people think it’s a good idea to discuss privilege to people who can’t pay their bills, can get a job because the mill closed, and don’t have many options. I’ve never had cancer, and I’m sure someone else is having a worse day right now, but if my husband said that to me after I’d had a long day, it wouldn’t go over well. We have to reach out with kindness before the next election or Dems are shot. |
Please, stop teasing the Democrats with your new math. |
