OP here - I am not so certain about this. The DMV is a bubble; there is an entire other world and reality out there. Was on the phone with a friend who lives in Arizona; both her and her husband voted for Trump. She kept talking about illegal immigrants etc. I know at least three other friends (these are all 30+ year relationships) in VA, GA and PA, who will vote Trump, along with their spouses. And these are educated people; just different value systems. I have another educated friend here in MD who is educated and is Jewish who is voting Trump, partly due to Israel issues. So, who knows what will happen on Tuesday.... |
One complaint we kept hearing from 2016 and 2020 was that there are Dems in red states, many who feel ignored. So, while DC may be a bubble, there are people in every state voting Dem.
And, you can find outliers anywhere. I just posted on another thread that I was in MI this weekend and nobody cheered when a Trump truck went by the tailgating. Our GOP friends made comments that were anti-Trump. Doesn't mean they'll vote for Harris -- didn't ask. But, we just don't know yet what position will be outliers this year. |
If you have been listening to Trump’s rally speeches over the past few weeks and still cannot vote for Kamala something is wrong. Trump’s own campaign advisors can’t rein him in. Do you think he is fit to be president? Would any company ever hire Trump as employee? Think about that. A non-vote is a vote for Trump. |
One is not fit and will make bad choices. One is fit and will still make bad choices. No good option here. |
Policy is forever. Trump is at worst President for four years under mostly divided government. I'm a different poster but what Trump says at his rallies is barely interesting. |
Policy? Like a nationwide abortion ban? |
Educated does not equal intelligent. If you vote for Trump you are not intelligent. Full stop. His entire cabinet has come out against him including his VP. Listen to what is being said about him by people that have worked for him and the garbage coming out of his own mouth. You are willfully ignorant to ignore all the evidence being presented to you by Republicans and Trump himself. |
So you know a bunch of people voting for Trump. That’s great. But it doesn’t change the fact that Trump lost the popular vote in the two last elections and he lost the electoral vote last election. |
Add to this that he changed the entire court landscape by ramming through unqualified conservative judges that will take generations to undo the damage. |
Or putting RFK Jr in charge of our healthcare and food. Yeah, nothing to worry about - seems just fine. My anxiety is through the roof, too, OP. Though it's a little better since the Selzer poll. |
i dont think i could be friends with anyone who is voting for trump |

True...but it should be worrisome that it was NOT by that much. 2016 Candidate/Party/Electoral Votes/Popular Votes ✓Donald J. Trump Republican 304 62,984,828 -- 47% of the popular vote Hillary R. Clinton Democratic 227 65,853,514 -- 49% of the popular vote Other Other 7 6,678,550 -- 4% of the popular vote 134,516,892 Total Popular Votes Source: https://www.270towin.com/2016_Election/ 2020 Candidate/Party/Electoral Votes/Popular Votes ✓Joseph R. Biden Democratic 306 81,268,867 -- 52% of the popular vote Donald J. Trump Republican 232 74,216,747 -- 47% of the popular vote Jo Jorgensen Libertarian 0 1,865,720 -- 1% of the popular vote 157,351,334 Total Popular Votes Source: https://www.270towin.com/2020_Election/ Taking a look at the past...Trump steadily won 47% of the popular vote both in 2016 and 2020....that's half the country. The only reason Biden won in 2020 is because rather than vote for other third party candidates people voted for Biden. I am worried about those voting for Jill Stein or deciding to not vote at all. This is the percentage that will make or brake it IMHO. |
As an anti-Trump voter who still doesn't agree with any of Harris' policies...I will blame the Dems if Trump wins. |
agree. even if it doesn't pan out - its helping my anxiety now which is not a bad thing honestly |
