I can see that they now feel economic pressures to not alienate different groups of readers just like for-profit businesses.

But of course this means that the days of believing newspapers are working for the good of the general population are over.

The New York Times makes money. The Washington Post doesn’t because the people that work there don’t want to change.

Their rationale makes sense but it should probably apply to all Federal offices.

Curtailing the freedom of your editorial board, and quashing a 76-year history makes no sense at all. Especially 11 days out from the election! The lack of consistency in applying the "new policy" only underscores how unethical it is.

Don't forget that Bezos also owns Whole Foods. Lot of better alternatives out there.

Twitter thread from the LA Times owner's daughter. The non-endorsement was over Israel/Gaza, not Trump or taxes.

I know her. Wouldn’t be in my top 8 billion to solve a grade school math problem. Just saying.

“This is not a vote for Donald Trump. This is a refusal to ENDORSE a candidate that is overseeing a war on children. I’m proud of the LA Times’ decision just as I am certain there is no such thing as children of darkness. There is no such thing as human animals.”

Huh?!
