What has DEI done to solve racism? Or move the needle at all?

When many laws were created by white people to exclude all POC at one time or another, and most white people to this day still self-segregate their home lives at least to some degree, how do white people expect things to change? Current DEI policies might not be the answer, but can we discuss some type of other solution that will improve the SES and opportunities of all POC, which will actually solve these inequalities?

Hold on there, cowboy. You are blaming all this self-segregation on only one race. I dare you to find a designated whites-only dorm like the Chocolate City at MIT for blacks only. Here in the DMV, PG is very self-segregated as a M/M wealthy black county.

I don't know what the answer is, but DEI isn't it. I would say that experiment caused hate to ramp up.

Yes, white people are wholly responsible for the racial disparities in this country by artificially creating a stratified society and engendering fear among non-white communities who have an innate distrust of self-serving white people, especially the ones who pretend to be allies. Don't cherry pick successful minority communities when you call the fkn cops on POC homeowners trying to mow their own lawns in white neighborhoods.

I read reputable studies.
That is not the Heritage Foundation. I know them.
I'm not interested in wasting my time.

The Heritage study is one paragraph in the middle of reams of original reporting. You clearly didn't RTFA so you have nothing to add.

I read it and stopped when I saw that crap.

Invalidated the whole thing.

How would you know?

Anyone who thinks that Project 2025 is a good idea can’t be trusted.

Does that really need to be spelled out for you?

Or maybe you do support project 2025 yourself.

“The fear is creating a hesitancy to teach what we would normally teach,” she said. Some of her accusers were white women, she recalled. It echoed an observation I heard repeatedly from faculty at Michigan: The most strident critics were sometimes not the most marginalized students, but peers who claimed to be fighting on their behalf.

This is the biggest problem in these racial debates. White people are the loudest virtue signalers and they need to take a supportive, secondary role instead of always claiming to be expert Karens because they had a vicarious epiphany after being forced to read an ethnic book in English class. They dilute the argument and their apologist zeal hurts any hope for honest dialogue.

White people caused the extreme inequalities and injustices.

White people have to fix it.

Don’t oppress someone for centuries and then expect them to solve all of the problems white people have foisted upon them.

Racism is a white person problem.

They're called white sororities and fraternities, certain "competitive" clubs that have some type of immutable quality as a racial barrier, and expensive (and useless) sports reserved for the upper class. I'm waiting for your example of black Greek organizations being racist without explaining why most of them had to form..

Lol, no. Just laughing at the people whose nerve is struck in perpetuity and continue to use stale arguments as a crutch for excusing a lack of progress in bettering their own lives.

Oh, I'm a minority so don't even go there. I've raised myself from a bad situation with a loving Mother, hard work, and taking the opportunity afforded me in this Country. If you're a white knight, you're very unwelcome.

Well, it's not for lack of trying. They just spent a quarter of a billion dollars to advance DEI at the University of Michigan. And it was a resounding failure. DEI for all intents and purposes is dead. I suspect the focus will move to individual talent and drive. The big, expensive, systemic programs don't work.

Wait, are you acting like there are no extremely wealthy, extremely white suburbs in the US? How many black families live in Bethesda? How many black families live in Greenwich, CT? The reason affluent black families like living in places like PG, is because it has a high standard of living and they won't be stared at by their nervous neighbors. Plenty of rich black families have horror stories of their white neighbors calling the cops on them upon sight, saying they suspect a "criminal is in the neighborhood."

Chocolate City is not for "blacks only." Anyone can apply to live there if they'd like. It embraces "black culture." However, the descendants of American slavery certainly do have a specific unified culture. Black Americans are more of an ethnic group rather than a racial group Can you explain what "white culture" is in the US? Plus, there are plenty of clubs or organizations that celebrate European heritage and traditions.
