That was awful. They were joking about him making out with a 14 year old Mila.

He was 19 to her 14. I am a little older than they are and can say that in my world (suburban NY) no one would have batted an eye toward a couple of those respective ages back then. Plenty of 14 yr old girls had french kissed. I briefly dated a 19 yr old as a 14/15 yr old, and in college dated a senior as a freshman. Even in hindsight with a 50 yr old’s perspective, I would never say I was taken advantage of.

My kids feel like you do - they are horrified if a senior in their HS dates a sophomore. That was probably the most common couple age gap in my HS.

Bullshit. I'm a Gen X'er and this was creepy as all hell in the early 90s. 14 is an 8th or 9th grader, 19 could be a college sophomore. On what planet is a college sophomore trying to bone an 8th grader normal? It's predatory as hell. I think you must be some PR firm to post some crap like this.

I posted it, and I was in 9th grade at 14 (until end of October) and a senior could have been 19. But let’s say 18, okay? It would not have been shocking for a senior to date a freshman (which is what I meant I was).

Right, back in the 90s, a senior and a freshman probably raised some eyebrows but it wasn’t unheard of.

But that’s not what happened here. Ashton entered college in August 1996. That same month, Mila turned 13. A year later, on the 70s Show, you have a “never been kissed” 14 year old and a guy who had been to and subsequently dropped out of college. That’s gross.

Eh, they were both actors…acting.

ICYMI: all kinds of weird stuff happens on set. The actors and their parents know this going into it.

Plus, I don’t buy the “never been kissed” innocent 14 year old thing. She seemed much more mature than he appeared.

Regardless, the two have been married for a long time now. This really isn’t the scandal some are suggesting it is.

There could be an entire section of any major bookstore filled with autobiographies by child actors who were exploited, abused, groomed, assaulted, chewed up and spit out by the business. If you think on-set personnel wasn't looking the other way and the parents weren't looking the other way, you are wildly mistaken.

And to think you're also saying, I bet 14-year-old Mila was sexually more experienced than she said. Of course you would defend Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson.

Yes.

I don't think so - he hung out with the guys (Wilmer, etc.) and occasionally helped her with her HS science homework. They didn't start dating until after she was an adult.

Speaking of Wilmer, he is really gross. I can't even look at him.

I give a side eye to any guy who in his late 20's/early 30's only wants to date teenagers. Wilmer, Leo, etc.

Your post disturbs me the most. You are basically blaming a 14-year old girl: “Plus, I don’t buy the “never been kissed” innocent 14 year old thing. She seemed much more mature than he appeared. ”

That poster is the kind who buys the PR image hook, line, and sinker. Ashton is a playful nice guy and a good family man, so all of this gossip couldn't possibly be true.

College sophomores try to have sex with 14 year old 8th grade little girls all the time. Totally no big deal.

When I went to college in the early 00’s, it was totally typical for the guys to joke while watching sports games about r*ping the other team, getting it in the *ss, and I distinctly remember there being an online countdown for “when the Olson twins turned 18”. There was zero shame about any of this back then and if you thought it was gross, you were deemed too sensitive and feminist.

Ashton is 6 years older than his wife. So when she was 14 he was 20.

Some stage parents protect their kids but many are complicit because it's their dream for the kids to be stars. Read Jeanette McCurdy's book. I think she's probably like a lot of stage mothers.

He didn't groom her into marriage. She was in a relationship with McCauley Caulkin for 8 years from 2002 -2010. She started dating Kutcher in 2012 when she was 30.

That was when they worked together on the show. Mila had lied about her age to audition.

They didn’t date until she was 30 and he was 36

He id five years her senior. No need to exaggerate. She was born in '83. Kutcher born in 78. That 70's show was 1998. With that said, I would have forbade my daughter from dating someone with a five-year age difference so young. It is my understanding that he did not date Mila until 2012, after Brittney and Demi.

Honestly the fact she spent 8 years with MacCauley Caulkin seems like a red flag in itself. That guy seems pretty messed up and for understandable reasons.
