How often do you use candles? Best, host gift given?

I don’t really do candles any more.

But actually what I really can’t resist is a simmer pot for the holidays. 1990’s William Sonoma has a deep hold on my psyche. Remember how you would walk in and they’d have cinnamon sticks and whatever simmering on the demo stove?

Give me a simmer pot and a tin of that peppermint bark and blanket and I’ll see you in spring.

I do the simmer pots! I put cloves, an apple, cinnamon, a little vanilla extract. It smells great.

I don't do scented candles anymore either
And I used to love them, especially the Anthropologies ones.
But started becoming more sensitive to scents of any kind, and more concerned about fire risk. Just not into it any more.

Since I have elementary aged kids I rarely burn these. It’s just too risky.

Also I hate the smell. I’d rather boil a lemon or an orange in the stove to get a nice fragrance.

Just in case anyone didn't catch this, this is a troll. One PP took the bait, no one else should.

I use tea lights and have a tea light holder. I light one every time I chop an onion, the burning candle helps overpower the smell and this way my eyes don’t hurt

I love wood wick candles. I love the flicker sound. I they are in my kitchen with nothing around. I think about the fire risk also.

Last year I got a candle lamp. The are nice for scented candles. The diffuse the scent but no open flame.

Sorry, but people who leave the house with a burning candle are asking for trouble. I mean, who does that. I know it’s an accident but still …….

I love candles. I don't love the prices though.
I'm from Northern Europe where it gets dark 4pm starting October. I also have the cheap Christmas light on already.
I love gifts that I can use up.

I never use candles except for play time and I HATE scented candles. If I go into a house with scented candles, my throat starts closing up. Candles put off a lot a soot and general indoor air pollution. They are nasty. I like the battery operated fake candles.
