Why does it feel like divorced friends always have a whole new life?

I'm not divorced, but I'm a widow, and I think divorce is kind of like a death. DH and I did not have a lot of couple friends, and I still get together with my "old" friends. But I also made some new friends in the immediate aftermath of DH's death, not even really consciously, but I think I just needed to be around people who didn't know him.
