Why DCUM has such high regard to Wake and Davidson?

There is a definite Davidson booster on here who posts all the time. Her son started there about 2 years ago. I think it's a great school but she makes it sound like the greatest school known to mankind.

Take DCUM with a grain of salt at all times.

Everyone knows the greatest school known to mankind is Penn State. Just ask a Penn State grad.

This is so strange. This is an anonymous board. How do you know that one poster is posting all the time? Couldn't it be multiple parents with multiple kids attending this school, all with positive experiences? I say that because I am a parent with a kid at Davidson for a couple of years now and I've responded on a couple of Davidson-related threads over the past few years, when appropriate. But I'm new to this thread. So clearly there's more of "me" out there.

There are normal Davidson posts and over the top Davidson posts. The over the top poster has a distinct writing style.

Funny, after NC, NY is the most represented state at both schools

+1000 -- so many kids from NYC there. "In NY..." LOL.

Not particularly difficult to get into.
You likely to encounter so-so peer in these schools.

Only on DCUM are schools that reject 80 percent plus of applicants called easy to get into.

Average SAT for those admitted to Wake Class of 2026 was 1480. I expect Davidson similar but too lazy to look.

Exactly -- "not difficult", just 20% acceptance. People have lost their minds.

Because they are both very good schools. Wake in particular is popular in NY both in the City and burbs. You are not well informed.

Wake has been test optional for over 15 years. A bit less than half of applicants report scores.

Wake and Davidson are great schools. Any of the top 50 schools are great. This is not hard.

Yes, about 100, and an active Hillel.

First - Wake’s CDS from the Class of 2026 says average SAT is 1450, not 1480.

Second - The actual SAT average at Wake and many test-optional schools is about 100-130 points lower (I.e. 1320-1350). That’s what the math says when only 28% are submitting SAT scores. Wake, like Tulane, Northeastern, and some other 2nd-tier schools, loves to admit as many full-pay ED kids as possible and test-optional helps them do that without wrecking their numbers. But don’t be fooled by those formerly Ivy-level SAT numbers. They only tell a small part of the story.

Dumbness to focus on your identity obsession. Would I post “Blackness” on an HBCU thread?

Bucknell is another school that gets boosted on this board, and it seems to be one or two people. I like the anonymity here, but it would be nice if there were a way to see which posts were coming from the same person/IP address.

It’s almost like you are unaware that 90 percent of schools are still test optional. 48 percent of applicants submit test scores at Wake.

Lots of people live in New York.

It's just, because they're decently nearby. This forum thinks anything that Virginians find most important is what others find important.
