It’s too Trumpy here now. It’s not worth engaging with the trolls who aren’t posting in good faith.

Funny, I was thinking the opposite.

Guess you haven’t been here long. It was much better before the MAGA troll infestation.

You mean DCUM is only for those who follow and totally agree with Dem and far left policies like sheep? I am an Anti-Trump moderate but right leaning voter. And can honestly say it's the LWNJs that have soured my view of DCUM. Automatic foul language used for simply posting my support for certain policies.

Most people in the DC area are Ds. That doesn't stop the RWNJ trolls from infesting the forums.

Why do you consider comments with views different from yours as posted by trolls?

I don't. The trolls are the people who post lies, make comments in bad faith, and intentionally stir the pot. Oh, and those who throw out one ridiculous strawmen after another. So 95% of the RWNJs posts on DCUM.

I was a die-hard Trump supporter until he picked Vance for VP. There’s no way I’m voting for Trump now, with a VP that literally had sex with a sofa. I’m changing my vote to Kamala.

The same people who hysterically emote about disinformation, misinformation, and Trump’s “lies” are flogging the Vance couch thing about. It makes the whole russian troll argument performative and null.

Differing views are welcome.

It’s the peddling of conspiracy theories, fights about minutia that does not matter, and concern trolling (I am a dem that was going to vote for Kamala until I heard about [insert latest made up panic issue] and now I am reconsidering).

We can have a reasonable debate about policy issues, I am a very moderate democrat, but not about the BS quoting of Kamala from 4 years ago and in the same breath pretending project 2025 is made up.

I’m with you. The Vance sofa info was my tipping point. But now that we have a thread started about how Harris likes Doritos I’m struggling yet again.

NP. Changing vote, no. Changing donations, yes. I used to donate to Democrats across the country and I’ve become much pickier about my donations. DCUM has definitely contributed to my underlying sense that the progressive left is dangerous to our country, as dangerous as the MAGA.

I’m a registered Democrat. Will never, ever vote Trump.

Who’s talking about the couch? Outside the memes and Twitter jabs, I have heard only one vague joke about it. I haven’t heard anyone treat it as a serious criticism of Vance. Seems it went straight to joke category.

Republicans don't understand jokes because you have to have a soul to understand humor.

+100

I didn't realize this was a forum only for those who totally agree with liberal Dem political opinions. Calling anyone a troll simply confirms that liberal Dems are close minded.

Yes DCUM leans heavily to the left. The liberal dems on here seem to be more hateful and nasty towards those who share a different political opinion. It's too bad because I enjoy reading different points of views from both sides but the angry, hateful posts predominately coming from the leftists posting here are very off putting.

They really are hateful. Liberals seem to excel at hateful, venomous posts

DP. What’s childish is insisting everyone vote exactly the way YOU think they should. Take your own advice and GROW UP.

Vote. More than 400,000 American soldiers died in World War II, defeating authoritarian regimes, so you could vote.

Ironically, MAGA/Trump are current-day authoritarians hoping to take control so that they can eliminate elections and democracy.

As Trump says, we won’t ‘need' elections, going forward...

No one is planning on eliminating elections. You people and your constant fear mongering/lying are beyond tiresome.

Anonymous wrote:I guess I'd say that in real life, I rarely have access to the unfiltered LWNJ discourse - so to the extent that being a DCUM obsessive gives me insight into how they talk and think, it's made me more committed than ever to trying to keep these people out of power.

Mostly I am on this forum to share stuff with people who feel similarly, arguing or talking with others sometimes helps me hone my own thoughts, I do learn some things from normal people here. And also it is sometimes cathartic, sometimes really frustrating, to argue anonymously with people I have to believe aren't real because - it's just too depressing otherwise.

I completely agree with you except for one notable exception.

Thanks. I forgot about the gaslighting and projection. Check and check.
