Gosh. I could swear there is a difference between Russia and China as compared to Israel. I wonder what that difference might be?????

Better food in China than Israel, and against all odds, at best a tie with the ghastly fare in Russia.

But seriously - three countries with a sordid history, one of which (Israel) is the single largest contributor to world conflict despite its relatively tiny size.

You can't seriously be saying the food in China is better than Israel or Russia. Maybe I could give you Shanghai, but Peking absolutely not.

I think you’re confusing (((Israel))) for (((Americans)))

That’s how you do that right??

That shows you where her focus is, and it's not Missouri. The people of her district just decided it was time to pick someone who puts them first.

So AIPAC buying a candidate to unseat her was because......

What specifically about aipac explains Cori bush getting fewer votes than her opponent?

Are you new to this country (or planet earth)? AIPAC spent millions in campaign support to effectuate this outcome. That led to more votes for her opponent, who will gladly suck on the AIPAC garden hose spewing droplets of water, and then do AIPAC's bidding to secure a tidal wave of ROI to Israel in return. He will also support oversized legislative representation for Israel's interests, which include those of many Jewish Americans.

At the end of the day elections come down to votes. That’s democracy. If you don’t like it, move to Iran.

You're only willing to accept that because the outcome favors your interests. If the votes favored Rashida Tlaib and company, you'd have a different tune.

Should all of the people attacking Tlaib over the years been told to move to Israel?

If you look in the Israel - Gaza war thread, those are exactly the comments you see.

AIPAC doesn’t “buy” votes. They campaign on behalf of candidates who suit their interests like any other PAC. Take up campaign finance reform if you’re so passionate about the issue.

You should ask AIPAC why they invested so much money in her opponent. Yes, it was an investment. The minute he steps out of line, they will buy another candidate to oppose him.

Why would AIPAC back a hateful antisemite? Of course they are going to back whoever is not like that. It's just common sense. And then people vote however they want to.

Please provide proof of her antisemitism.

This piece outlines her views, her rhetoric, and her lack of engagement with the Jewish community in her district.

Missouri has population of 6.1 million with Jews being 1.1% of that total. 62% of Missouri's 67,800 Jewish population live in the 2nd CD. The rest is spread out in the other 7CD. There is not enough of a Jewish vote to impact the race in the 1CD. It was the 8 million AIPAC dropped in the race.

What is your point? Advertising money doesn't force people to vote one way or the other.

So how did the money “impact” the race? Did Bell, in fact, not receive more votes?

Yet, those two were very public with that “River to the Sea” nonsense. If pols like Bush and Bowman are that clueless, they don’t deserve to be in Congress. Good riddance. and FWIW I’m not Jewish.

I agree with this. They were played by a long-running Palestinian campaign to co-opt Black progressives and take advantage of the noxious thread of anti-semitism running through Black culture. FAFO I guess. Next time think twice before getting involved in international politics without understanding what you are doing.

I'm going to assume you are white because your comment reeks of ignorance and suggests that you don't actually know any black people.

DP. Theres alot of anti-semtism in my culture and it needs to be called out and dealt with.

I know many … in fact I even know some Black Jewish people. Shocker!

The oppressed / oppressor narrative has been well exploited by the Palestinian activists. They astutely observed they could easily benefit from identity based grievance politics based on long-running anti-Semitism in the black community which is based on resentment of Jewish success. Will be interesting to see if other groups are able to copy this template.

You are so far gone that you believe this. It has been shown many time, including in the recent MD primary where David Trone lost, that money does not always buy the result you want. Trone is a multi-millionaire who threw millions of his own money at his election and still lost to a grass roots devoted public servant who did not have the deep pockets he had. Just one of many cases. In 2022, John Fetterman beat millionaire Hedge Fund manager David McCormick in Pennsylvania. Another wealthy candidate who tossed millions of dollars of his own money into his campaign and lost. Both Trone and McCormick spent more money than Bell spent and they lost while he won. Plenty more cases like this around the country over the last few years.

Money helps, but doesn't always win elections.

And yet, not one word about this:

(The answer is, of course, is yes. The photograph was doctored, and the implication is clear. The copyright holder of the photograph, the Missouri Independent, is on the record stating that AIPAC's use was without its permission and violated its terms of service: https://www.dailykos.com/story/2024/8/6/2261041/-I-m-sorry-but-I-cannot-find-this-act-of-racism-being-diaried-if-there-is-one-I-ll-delete-it-Help.)

So you want to stop campaign contributions form groups lobbying for foreign governments? So jejeune.

Yes, and the Ethiopian Jews in Israel are treated almost as badly as the Palestinians. The Mizrahi Jews stay in North Africa rather than going the way of the Ethiopian Jews.
