What specifically about aipac explains Cori bush getting fewer votes than her opponent?

You should ask AIPAC why they invested so much money in her opponent. Yes, it was an investment. The minute he steps out of line, they will buy another candidate to oppose him.

Why would AIPAC back a hateful antisemite? Of course they are going to back whoever is not like that. It's just common sense. And then people vote however they want to.

Please provide proof of her antisemitism.

This piece outlines her views, her rhetoric, and her lack of engagement with the Jewish community in her district.

Missouri has population of 6.1 million with Jews being 1.1% of that total. 62% of Missouri's 67,800 Jewish population live in the 2nd CD. The rest is spread out in the other 7CD. There is not enough of a Jewish vote to impact the race in the 1CD. It was the 8 million AIPAC dropped in the race.

So how did the money “impact” the race? Did Bell, in fact, not receive more votes?

Advertisers spend billions of dollars to affect how people spend their money but you believe campaign ads don't have a similar impact. Does that make sense to you?

Is that not the point of campaign advertising? Why are you acting outraged and surprised by something everyone does? It still doesn't "buy" votes. People go to the polls and ultimately decide. Sounds like you hate AIPAC, so vote for the candidate they don't back. It's that simple.

You don't get it. The votes they're buying don't occur in the voting booth at your local library, you buffoon. They occur in the halls of Congress.

Jesus Christ ... it's obvious you are playing dumb, but you don't have to try so hard. You're a natural!

Ok you lost me. So Congress voted for Bell?

Let's try a remedial approach ...

An organization that should be required to register as a foreign agent spent nearly $10M to promote the campaign of one individual, and to disrupt the campaign of another individual. OF COURSE campaign finance reform is badly need to close this corrupt, treason-adjacent loophole.

When that campaign spending resulted in more votes for the former individual, they are beholden to the foreign agent's agenda the moment they are seated - and certainly if they hope to keep their job. Therefore, they comply with what their handler from the foreign agent instructs them to do, and they keep their job as long as they prioritize the interests of that foreign agent over those of America and their actual constituents.

Lemme guess? You still have some nonsense to distract from the conversation. Such a card!

This still has nothing to do with the fact that the people of her district voted against her.

If you run afoul of these groups and their foreign agenda, this is what happens. Our political system orbits around Israel, as further evidenced by the number of Congressional junkets to Israel.

Is anyone just now realizing that fact?

Yes. It's time for Americans to wake up. Don't just complain on a forum. Call your officials. I found out that one can't do business with 38 states if their company is part of a BDS movement? WTF. This is absurd.

They are not just a lobbying group for israel; they lobby for all the Jews.

Ya know why that group wasn't liked in the early 20th century? It was because they were more loyal to their diaspora comrades than they were their current country. I don't like these AIPAC contributions. They support the narrative that Jews care more about their own state than the country they live in. The siphoning of US funds to Israel supports this.

Gosh. I could swear there is a difference between Russia and China as compared to Israel. I wonder what that difference might be?????

Read up about Bezalel Smotrich. Their government is not our ally.

My state = The United States of America. You don't sound like you need AIPAC to be prejudiced.

That's not going to move the needle. It's money that gets votes. Either get rid of Citizens or have a counter PAC. Sad, but true.

DP

The confused look on the face of the person wielding the "anti-semitism" cudgel - hilarious.

"What do you mean "proof"? We don't need to provide "proof" of anything. We just say the magic word and people scurry away as fast as they can because they know it's just a tactic to stifle debate by signaling an attack of your opponent's personal and professional lives, and then we can return to our regularly schedule programming - The Corruption of America by a Foreign Government whose interests align with less than 2% of America's population.

It's come to the point that if one isn't pro-Israel, then one is labeled an antisemite.

If this is true, I will proudly wear the anti semite label. Now that I have that label, I guess I am left with no choice but to think that Neo-nazis weren't so crazy after all....

Read carefully. I stated that AIPAC's massive influence in our elections supporting candidates that only support Israel is something that reinforces the anti-Jewish narrative. It becomes a confirmation narrative that deepens the resolves of those harboring antisemitic thoughts. It doesn't help American Jews when the average American starts to wake up and say ... wait a minute?

Eh, good riddance. The squad and their counterparts on the right (MTG, Boebert) all need to go.

DP. I live in Jamaal bowman’s district and he was very unpopular here before aipac got involved. In fact, he was primaries two years ago and only won because there were three candidates primarying him which fractured the opposition vote. AIPAC had no part in that race - yet, had there been rank choice voting, bowman would have lost two years ago. Cori Bush was similarly extremist and unpopular within her district. AIPAC targets vulnerable candidates, which is why, for example, they haven’t invested in Omer primaries next week - she’s not highly vulnerable and unpopular in her district. It’s not like AIPAC is some magic Jewish wand that completely reverses the course of an election.

But yes, if you’re so passionate about PACs, advocate for campaign finance reform. I can tell you that living in bowman’s district, he would have lost with or without AIPAC involvement. The turnout and enthusiasm for latimer was huge and was a grassroots movement locally.

Bowman won on the heels of George Floyd in 2020 and he was super ineffective, always playing to a national progressive and extremist narrative without doing anything for the district locally, and actually routinely voted against democrats in congress. He was not in line with his constituents, and we used the democratic process to vote him out. Cori Bush was similarly unpopular and at risk.

Evil is clearly subjective. You don't get to dictate what evil is or isn't, anonymous troll.

True, but voters get to give their opinion of office holders with their votes.

That’s not true at all. Nowhere in their material to they stand up for Jewish protestors opposed to the West Bank settlements, no where do they support the Jewish students who were hosting Shabbat dinners in the university protests…they are pretty clearly lobbying for Israel specifically.

And? I think that’s fine. You’d have to be incredibly naive to think Saudi doesn’t hire lobbyists. But they should register because that’s the law.
