Dating someone with different political views

But, fwiw, he's voting for Kamala this time. Thinks Trump is a danger to democracy.

Coming from the side that hid a mentally incompetent president, then forced him from the race (and disenfranchising 14M+ voters) and then installed a candidate who was not primaried and gave her all of the other guy’s money? Yeah, STFU about democracy.

A difference of political opinion is reserved for normal people who disagree on funding for infrastructure or education.

It isn't normal to think that it's "debatable" whether a corrupt, rapist, pos who (to anyone w/ an IQ above one digit) cares nothing about democracy and tried to overthrow it, would sentence people to death for any reason involving his own ego and has never in his entire sh*t life been a patriot or made any sacrifices for this nation, is qualified to be president.

And if your stupid instinct is to think that's some automatic defense of the Democrats, it's why putrid MAGAs have earned their reputation for being putrid. Absolutely no ability to see how vile you must be to support that scum.

I took a philosophy course inu freshman year in college. Best course I ever took. It was far more useful than any of the physics courses I took for my major.

In that course we learned why people think a certain way. We learned why the most rational people can make decisions that will make any scratch their head. And finally we learned why universal opinion are not so universal after all.

The point I want to make is that regardless of your opinion, the human experience is far more complex than we assume.

He still went to an Ivy league school. And so did the craziest at the supreme court and a non negligible members of Republican congresspeople. We have a weird and interesting system in this country to be honest. Some of the people who are trying to destroy our country went to some our best colleges but we still refer to them as having low IQs and/or have low regard for their intellect.

You mean Hawley, Cruz, Stefanic, Desantis, Trump, C Thomas, Cotton, and God countless others. And by the way these universities still continue to pump these types of people. I don't know their socio economic background but I will suspect many of them or a good portion of them come from privilege background. My son goes to an Ivy league school and I'll be honest his academic credentials alone didn't get him in. Yes he is a good student but nothing stellar. It is what it is.

In our culture, we ascribe legitimacy to people who have attended high-end institutions such as Ivy League schools.

No. You need to leave him, OP.

Politics are different now. I used to consider myself a moderate and voted for people of different parties locally, in state elections and nationally. As a registered Democrat, I voted Republican for president from 1992-2004. I can't imagine voting Republican now. No way. It's become the world of not only Trump but empowered crazy ragers like Marjorie Taylor Green, and it's too religious. My husband is a Republican who feels the same way. Even local elections are filled with candidates talking about radical things that have no bearing on local issues because it's all part of this posturing as tough a*holes because it's alpha or some other trendy idea.

If I were dating, I could not be with someone who says what is not unusual to hear anymore: that women should not vote. It's a thing and these guys believe it or repeat something they've heard and don't think it sounds at all bad to say it. I'd rather be alone.

You and the person to whom you responded are both idiots. Trump was in no way, shape or form qualified to go to an Ivy League school. Same with his equally-stupid SIL. Per usual, you ignore HOW the idiots on your side even got into such prestigious schools. Mary Trump's FATHER is the only reason Trump was allowed into WBS and repaid his brother by f***ing over his children.

And the "mARxiSt" BS is for complete idiots who have no clue whatsoever what Marxism actually is. Idiots who can't actually debate *issues* use that word. Same idiots who scream about cancel culture as you boycott Bud Light because they gave ONE trans person a personalized set of cans which had nothing to do with you dummies who drink that cheap swill. Morons posting YT videos of shooting the cans. You embarrass yourselves w/ how little you actually care about personal choice and government *actually* staying out of people's god damned lives. Take your tiresome, LOW IQ "marxist" line and stick where the sun don't shine...Trump's backside where your head already resides.

Politics aside calling you stupid is a non starter.
Please break up with him today.
I don't know if therapy will help but do whatever you need to do so you see your worth.
Having a man can't be more valuable to you than yourself.

That's not differing political views, OP.

It's a FUNDAMENTAL difference in values that transcend the political, and veer into the dehumanizing and enslaving.

I hope you're a troll, because if you've been with this man for months, or years, something is deeply, deeply, wrong with you.

There are so many worse things in life than being single at 32.
Much, much worse.

Like being in a relationship w/someone who
puts down your gender on a continual basis.

Or spending time w/someone who critiques who you decide to vote (or not!) for and calls it “stupid.”

How demeaning!
