why is MoCo so dumpy now?

I had to drive around that area today and was getting off the Wheaton exit from 495. So. Much. Trash. Everywhere. You wouldn’t see people littering like that in Olney, or on the roads in Chevy Chase or even in many parts of Gaithersburg. There are just more lowlife littering low class aholes in the eastern part of the county.


Like what goes through peoples’ minds who have a pickup truck with a couch and desk they want to get rid of and they decide to dump it on the side of the road in silver spring? Just loser mindset and behavior. They are just mentally broken people who are irredeemable, because they’ve never been taught manners and about living in a community from good parents.

Anyone who thinks the less fortunate among us are “irredeemable” is a failure of a human being. Period.

NP - You can't deny that people who grew up in third world countries have different expectations for behavior. Parts of MoCo are 30%+ foreign born (and that, of course, doesn't include their U.S. born children. We are overwhelmed and can't acculturate people fast enough, so yes, things are starting to appear more and more like the third world. Is that racist?

Yes. "Foreign-born people and their US-born children litter" is a racist statement.

I’m not sure blaming it all on foreigners is entirely fair. My area of PG is very littered and dirty and I see people littering all of the time and they do not appear to be foreigners.

To be fair MoCo makes it difficult to throw things away. I had to take an afternoon off from work just to go to shady Grove which is about 45 minutes away to throw away some paint, light bulbs, electronics, and batteries. I had to drive around in circles and wait in a long line. I could see why someone who didn't have access to paid time off or worked multiple j9bs would just throw trash 9n the road,

I left MoCo bc its trajectory was obvious and I didn't want to lose too much on the house sale. People still have a rosy view of MoCo so cash out while you can.

The MoCo dump at Shady Grove is actually a great service for residents. Other places (especially the south) do not have any equivalent. Many places make you pay to use a private dump. If you think that’s a bad thing then you have some strange priorities. Would you rather pay a private company to have similar services?

Stop lying. You can dump everything at Shady Grove. Residents get free multiple pickups for bulk trash per year. You can also get unlimited pickups for metal trash.

Stop making up excuses for disgusting behavior. MoCo is in decline because its residents do not care anymore. They'd rather dump on the spot than spend the effort to discard through appropriate channels.

Why would they not use their home trash service? I mean sure it is better to get certain things to Shady Grove...but why would your options be to toss your batteries on the side of the road? Shady Grove only takes paint in the spring. Sometimes we just let it dry out on toss in the trash.
