It seems that the try-out ladies vs the veterans aren’t working. They all seem to be in furnished apartments. I assume they have some family support to “follow their dream”. This is what happens when you keep your kids on your health insurance until they are 26. |
Seems like it’s worth it to their parents. |
I loved this show! Would have never watched it without DCUM’s recommendation.
When they actually performed “Thunderstruck” and did the splits thing I swear I got tears in my eyes. |
I admit the song has grown on me. |
Kelcey works full time as a pediatric registered nurse in addition to DCC. She spoke about it in her interviews and there was a scene where she was taking care of a patient (home health for a medically fragile young girl). She seems like the total package! Smart, gorgeous, talented, hard-working, big heart. I loved her- she was my favorite. Reece is very pretty and a great dancer, but the baby voice got on my nerves as did all the religious talk. Couldn't tell if I was watching "Keep Sweet Pray and Obey" or a show about cheerleaders ![]() |
Someone on Reddit who went to Bama with him said that he comes from major money. |
The doc reaffirmed my belief that the Jones family is the absolute worst. |
Agree. Charlotte Jones creeped me out. |
I 100% agree. The Netflix show does show more of what goes on in their private lives. |
I have one more episode left, but here are my thoughts.
- Happy to hear that no one can touch a cheerleader during picture taking. I like the example of giving the guy a football to hold vs placing his arm around her. -There girls are religious! It’s in God’s hands to make me a cheerleader or not. Wow. -Some of these ladies are emotionally fragile. |
Why is he working retail then? If he has family money, you’d think he has connections to get an entry level corporate job. I don’t think Reece is out of his league. The retired cheerleaders featured in the doc are divorced and leading average lives. Will and Reece also seem to be headed for a middle class lifestyle, though I hope they stay together. |
I watched this show with my teenage sons and daughter and I have to say my sons were shocked. I think depending on where you live it’s possible for teen boys to not truly have a good handle on how incredibly eff-ed up gender dynamics can be in this country even now. This show appalled all of us( while also being a fun watch, somehow.)
On another note, we spent a lot of time talking about whether the dcc org knew/knows how villainous they come across. My thought is no. |
Halfway through the series I realized Reese was giving a vibe like the Charlize Theron character in arrested development and after that I couldn’t not see it. Tbh everything made more sense after that. |
Why on earth is he working as a power washing employee in a store? Maybe he himself doesn't have any money. |
There's something incongruous about her touting her Christian faith while dancing in a suggestive manner in a very skimpy costume. |
