yes. She is waaaayyyyyy out of his league. Lucky guy.

I thought for sure she would realize that but looks like they are married now.

He’s not even rich ! She’s a dance major- she needs to marry up!

Someone on Reddit who went to Bama with him said that he comes from major money.

Why on earth is he working as a power washing employee in a store? Maybe he himself doesn't have any money.

Probably because it’s easy work if you’re able bodied, predictable hours, and not at all cutthroat. You know the wealthy women who have no kids at home who work in boutiques? This is the equivalent for guys who drive trucks and like to pretend they’re blue collar but have no actual skills.

Unless his family owns the chain, and part of getting your job in the company requires you to work some time in all the lower positions, just like grandpa did when he built the business from scratch.

She never even had a guy put his arm around her let alone kiss her before she went on a date with Will. To get married to the first guy you date is a bad idea. He seems like a nice enough guy and I hope they last but I doubt it.

DCUM is so jaded.
It will last because they are both from families in Alabama with the same values and have a Christ-centered marriage, which means God is at the core and the commitment is for life.
Marrying him is great for her! He will cherish her and she has nothing by which to compare. He meets *her* standards and is a man of strong and steady faith—and that’s what is most important to her.

Exactly this.

Or as Catholics call it, a sacramental marriage.

What they do to their bodies and how little they are compensated. How DCC is a multimillion dollar brand and the women get so little. How oblivious and high on it all that they are.

It’s extortion. And it’s heartbreaking.

It's a part time job and I read they earn $75k. Um, that's REALLY great for a part time job, especially in Texas. And all of them are pretty so they're all probably also doing influencer stuff on social media for extra money. Plus being on the shows pays money. PLUS some of them (Kelsey (sp?)) have full time jobs that probably provide health insurance too.

It’s a highly visible, extremely demanding sport. It brings in an insane amount of money. How much are the women paid? It’s peanuts. Your justifications are sickening. In no world would a male athlete that makes this much bank for his employer be willing to accept $15/hour. Even worse, in no world would society (or idiots like you) argue that it is ok “because they can be influencers”

I worked with a professional nfl cheerleader.

It is an awesome, fun, part time job if you love dancing and performing, like football and are outgoing.

They make more than most dancers, certainly more than ballerinas and tour dancers, fyi.

But the craziest part might be the mega church the girls are filmed at. God Loves Dallas! God Loves the Dallas Cowboys! Must be preaching from the King Jerry Jones Version.

I bet they don’t get health insurance to cover these expenses!

Don't most of them have other full time jobs? It seems fun, if you love football even better. And better exposure to meet a rich spouse or player whcih is also probably a big motivator for some of these women

Yes they do.
DCC practices start at 7pm and then the performance/ event days are on weekends. Home games only plus holiday events and volunteer things.

Most are not graduating injured at all. Show highlighted one person who did have hip or knee issues. She choose to do 4 years then get surgery. She could have quit at first diagnoses. She’s with a cane due to surgery recovery, not being crippled or something.

If she grew up doing competitive dance with bad training or the wrong floors, her injuries probably happened when she was a kid, not from the DCC.

I think depending on where you live it’s possible for teen boys to not truly have a good handle on how incredibly eff-ed up gender dynamics can be in this country even now. This show appalled all of us( while also being a fun watch, somehow.)

On another note, we spent a lot of time talking about whether the dcc org knew/knows how villainous they come across. My thought is no.

The filmaker was obviously trying to make them look villainous. In the very first shot of Kelly, she was frowning and narrowing her eyes. Evil personified. I watched a few episodes of the CMT documentary and thought she came off as tough, but fair, and empathetic with the girls when they were cut. This doc went out of the way to make her look mean. During the scene where they were watching the videos, 80% of the comments shown were negative, when they obviously invited a large group of girls to try out. Small decisions in editing can make a huge difference in how people come off to the first time viewer.

Agree that it’s deliberate.
Kelli is a good person who has an extremely tough job that she executes brilliantly and with compassion.
The CMT Making the Team series respects her.
This documentary was a hatchet job.
And the documentary crew does not seem to have any love for DCC at all.
America is a pretty big and diverse place. Texas has its own culture and outward and visible open faith in God is definitely a part of the culture that just doesnt resonate with big city people on the coasts.

Doesn’t really resonate with Jews and Catholics either. Or Hispanics.

Uh... wrong.
