What. Yeah... Gaza, Mariupol, Hyattsville. Can't tell the difference honestly. |
I’m not sure you know the definition of the words you are using. |
This attempt at putting people down is so 7th grade mean-girl it is embarrassing. But 7th grade mean girl with an old-lady-in-ugly-ass-Talbot's/Chico's-clothing twist. Can we all please agree to retire this phrase? Anyone using it sounds so pathetic. |
I think people forget how big Takoma Park is. But there is that downtown area with all of the natural yards and large houses with ‘art’ in the front lawn. Those neighborhoods do fit the description in OP’s post. I will also say from anecdotal experience I think those neighborhoods also forget that Takoma Park is bigger than just their neighborhoods. |
Uh oh, someone struck a nerve with the tone police. No cap. |

I think it's kind of funny! |
I agree with the prior poster - that is why we live in TP. SS is not interchangeable. |
TP resident for 30 years. What most distinguishes TP is its high property taxes. We have the heaviest property tax burden in MD. |
And these are located on New Hampshire Blvd. Anywhere else, it's pricy. |
That’s what people say because they are defensive about the fact that my family has the same lifestyle even while living across the street from the actual TKP border. They have the privilege to pay more taxes so that they can feel superior to me. Cool. |
This. I moved here from Madison, WI and my former boss suggested I look at Takoma Park because it is like a "little Madison". |
| We were driving through TkPk the other day and we saw a 60ish yo woman walking down the street, wearing a purple tie dyed t-shirt and army green shorts, holding a gig bag. I said to my husband “if that isn’t quintessential Takoma Park, I don’t know what is.” |
I’m one of the PPs and that’s the part of Takoma Park that TP residents pretends doesn’t exist. That’s actually my issue with TP. |
