OMG. I read that last one only because of this post, and it was EXCELLENT. The smut was fun and well-written but the characterizations and story arc are straight-up brilliant and will stick with me. I love it when fanfic authors make characters more interesting and nuanced but in a way that is perfectly in-line and plausible based on the OG source material.

The Fallout - intense wartime story but with sweet and very well-written smut. Many of battle scenes, you can skim them They first hook up maybe 15-20% in, and it keeps going throughout.

I’m 49 and my libido has shot through the roof. We became empty nesters last year about the same time it took off and my husband has benefited from it. He’s quite affectionate and when he is game on. I am going to provide some tech support for reading “archive of our own” (smutty) fanfic on your iphone.

1) find the fanfic (often easiest via google rather than the AO3 search function)
2) find the “download” button (gray) at the top of the page
3) hit the button and select the EPUB button. The file will download to your file folder app on your phone. It’s really fast.
4) if the file doesn’t open automatically in the Apple Books app that comes with your iPhone (orange icon with a little open book on it), then go to the files app (blue background with a white file folder on it - also comes with your iPhone) and click on it to open the file and request that it open in the orange Apple Books app
5)increase the font size until you can actually see the words with your farsighted eyes (expanding a normal length “book” to 6000 pages)
6) tell everyone to leave you alone because you are reading a fascinating and paradigm shifting article in the New Yorker or the Atlantic

Bonus - if you wake up at 3 AM and can’t sleep you can change the format to white letters on a black background when you read in the Apple Books app. I think I’m more likely to fall back asleep when reading on a black background in the middle of the night.

I think that kindles use the MOBI format for downloads, but my kindle kept erasing the files when I moved in and out of airplane mode so I gave up
