I have the smile necklace that I love. People don’t really know it’s Tiffany’s. Also that lock bracelet they have is really pretty on (with the diamonds). Or that classic gold Elsa perreti bone cuff is amazing.

It’s Tiffany. Not “Tiffany’s.” And when you say that? We know.

You don’t have anything better to do? #sad We know.

If you say “Tiffany’s,” we all instantly know what class you belong to, and what class you are striving toward.

I was born with a $10m trust fund and I thought it was “Tiffany’s” and I wore one of those silver necklaces in high school.

This is America, all that really matters is your bottom line. Nobody is turning Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez away from their club, and the country is better for it. Knowing about jewelry brands is meaningless either way. Know them, don’t know them, look down on them, aspire to them. It has nothing to do with anything. Do what your heart desires.

Anonymous wrote:What about the Cartier Trinity line?

Everyone and their aunt and their sister and their daughter wear this.

Serious question- really? I’ve only seen one other Trinity piece on someone in real life- my kid’s pulmonologist wore one as a wedding ring. For all the fussing about the Love line, I’ve only seen two in the wild- one was a necklace and the other the bracelet.

I just have your basic outside the Beltway Fairfax County life, though.

I'm PP, and I have a basic inside-the-beltway FFX life. And I've seen more Trinity stuff than I could count. In numbers right up there with that horrifically basic Alhambra line.

PP here. Huh. I don’t see Alhambra or any VCA either where I live. I really don’t see much noticeably mainstream designer jewelry where I live at all.

It’s all over the place on the private school set with their Chanel flats and Neverfull bags. Same group who buy their daughters the entry level Prada bag during their study abroad trip.

We all instantly know that you are a loser that gets their jollies from being rude on the internet.

I would look at Ring Concierge-- followed heavily by the IYKYK crowd.

Np can I trade knowing it’s Tiffany for 10 mil? because I’ll take that bag over knowing a brand name

40s; I bought a Tiffany bean necklace in gold. I get a lot of compliments on it. The grown-up version of the silver one i wore in college.

DD's nickname has a bean reference so its my small nod to her w/o doing her initial or birth stone.

Anonymous wrote:These are great suggestions. Thanks. And yes looking for a brand. I’ll admit that I am status conscious (I’m sure I’ll get berated) and want something recognizable but not something that is worn by everyone or easily replicated. IYKYK.

IK that you’re hopelessly insecure.

lol. Np, but your comment totally screams complete confidence.

Yep! Thanks.

And here’s another thought—once you put something out on the internet, people are going to respond in any way they wish.

NP. Yes. Exactly. And you got good advice here -- to learn to subvert that desperation to comment (run your mouth) and move on.

Have you moved on? Doesn’t appear so. No one made you hall monitor, babe.

Rich people can be basic and ignorant as well.

I read Infinite Jest though.

Steep prices but Sophie Bille Brahe does pearl and diamonds. The tennis bracelet is IYKYK due to the unusual design. Fashion girls wear her jewelry

I love the Monica Rich Kosann gold necklaces. And I have seen the today show anchors wearing them.
