IYKYK Jewelry

The point about Tiffany vs Tiffany’s is relevant here bc if op’s stated purpose is to impress others in the know, then things like that would undermine her ability to do so and also reflect on the ability of the poster giving her advice to achieve that stated goal.

This may sound mean and I don’t mean it to bc I appreciate the existence of the today show - but whatever the today show anchors are wearing is the opposite of iykyk. It’s the today show - it’s the Macy’s of tv.

Love love.

How do all these people have so much $? We have $750-1m (depending on year) hhi - but two kids in private and live in nyc and I would never spend this much on a ring that was just for fun.

They don't. People who spend this kind of money on brand name jewelry are all flash and no cash.

Everyone and their aunt and their sister and their daughter wear this.

Serious question- really? I’ve only seen one other Trinity piece on someone in real life- my kid’s pulmonologist wore one as a wedding ring. For all the fussing about the Love line, I’ve only seen two in the wild- one was a necklace and the other the bracelet.

I just have your basic outside the Beltway Fairfax County life, though.

I'm PP, and I have a basic inside-the-beltway FFX life. And I've seen more Trinity stuff than I could count. In numbers right up there with that horrifically basic Alhambra line.

PP here. Huh. I don’t see Alhambra or any VCA either where I live. I really don’t see much noticeably mainstream designer jewelry where I live at all.

Yes, well -- you are outside the beltway. And I'm inside. Not puzzling. I'm sure there is a difference in our housing costs as well.

lol you think Lauren Santo Domingo is wearing Love and Trinity stuff?

My college roommate is the daughter is a billionaire and really into jewelry. She posts about all the custom stuff she buys. She would never, ever wear the stuff mentioned here.

I don’t believe you partly bc what daughter of a billionaire is sharing a room in a college dorm, and partly bc that person surely knows from a young age that posting your expensive custom jewelry is a ticket to be immediately robbed, Kim kardashian style

I mean I don't care what you believe. We lived together in an apartment in Los Angeles, not a dorm. And she posts stuff because she is up her own ass and thinks of herself as some patron of the arts. There are multiple press stories about jewelry that mention her collection.

And here’s another thought—once you put something out on the internet, people are going to respond in any way they wish.

NP. Yes. Exactly. And you got good advice here -- to learn to subvert that desperation to comment (run your mouth) and move on.

Have you moved on? Doesn’t appear so. No one made you hall monitor, babe.

"Babe" lol. You are so embarrassing.
