You must be blind. Kamala Harris is much darker than Cristiano Ronaldo. He looks Mediterranean and she looks like what she is Jamaican and South Indian with substantial White Ancestry. I would never think that Cristiano was anything but White. Kamala is more exotic looking, though I thought Indian the first time I saw her. I would never think she was exclusively European like I can see with Cristiano. He has European features in addition to his skin tone being WHITE. What would you think he was if not White? A Hispanic of exclusively European ancestry? Does he look Black to you? INDIAN? Chinese? Maybe you should go see an ophthalmologist. |
Yes, her Jamaican sjde. Big slave operation. |
Sorry, you are wrong. Nothing crazy about diversity, equity, and inclusion. |
Then that's even more confusing. There are POCs who are well off and not oppressed, so does that make them not POC? |
So you admit Italians are dark-skinned but their dark skin does not qualify as "person of color" because they are not oppressed enough? If so, then why have the term POC if it doesn't mean what it refers to? |
She is darker than Cristiano Ronaldo?

Yes!!! She is much darker. It’s in the undertones. Her undertones are not found in Europeans. Cristiano is super tan, in addition to being a dark skinned CAUCASIAN, but his ruddy undertone is frequently found in Europeans, especially Mediterranean ones. Kamala’s skin tone is not found in Caucasians. I don’t mean to be mean or touch upon a sensitive topic. But are you Indian? I’ve found that Indians are obsessed with skin tone, but are simultaneously totally blind to the differences between Mediterranean skin tones and South Asian/Persian ones. I’ve encountered quite a few Indians who think Italians or Spaniards or Greeks, or in this case, Portuguese people, look like they can be Indian and are even darker than some Indians. But they are literally the only ones who think that. I, for one, have never confused a Spaniard with a Punjabi or an Italian for a Bengali. They look totally different. Indians, even the very, very light skinned ones are browner in their skin tones. Kamala is much browner than Ronaldo. I don’t know how you cannot see that. |
DP. Yes. ![]() ![]() |
Yes, POC as a term means nothing. Well, it is a term used by people who are not of African or Northern European descent when they want to take advantage of the struggles of the Civil rights movement for their own purposes (i.e. "look at all those poor POC being detained at the border!") |
I live in a very diverse area that is heavily Portuguese American and also Italian American (eastern Massachusetts). I was born and raised here in early childhood, with a bigot father who was basically a violent Archie Bunker.
When I was young I never understood his blathering around ‘portagees’ and ‘wops’ who looked to my fresh and unbiased eyes no different than my dark haired German American father. But I do understand he was raised by a Nazi sympathizer in 1930s/40s NYC at a time when people who were his neighbors both in the Bronx and the old countries were considered inferior stock. It’s all insanity people. We are one race, all various shades of brown. |
Not to mention her lifelong experience with oppression and male-domination in the US. |
Ah the deep ignorance. Kamala's dad side owned slaves in Jamaica. Those slaves suffered opression, not Kamala. Kamala's mom side comes from a privileged high caste in India. People in the lower castes suffer oppression, not Kamala. She's a fraud. As is anyone who thinks she should get some preferential treatment because of her skin color while ignoring her family's facts. |
Kamala whitewashed herself when needed, and became POC when hit benefited her. |
No, unless they are Africans living in Portugal. |
