Um...

What's the Um supposed to mean? It's a Catholic school and it's in DC, just like Georgetown.

Holy Cross a safety? Hardly.

My kid is at a Jesuit high school where lots of kids go on to these colleges. Holy Cross accepts 100% of the kids who applied. The scattergram is literally filled with green circles. So that's what I based my recommendation on. Villanova is a much harder admit. Of course, I don't know OP's kid's info.

Are you guys talking about Holy Cross in Indiana near Notre Dame or College of the Holy Cross in Mass? The one in Mass is pretty hard to get into these days. The one in Indiana is not.

The one in Indiana has a guaranteed transfer program with ND.

+1 Villanova is the safety on that list.

My 4.4/1520/500+ hours of community service kid (plus a million other ECs and such) got rejected from Villanova today. I wouldn't call it a safety.

I just checked my kid's jesuit hs scattergram and for College of the Holy Cross (Mass), with a 3.5+ wgpa, acceptance is almost 100% over the last 5 years. Too many green dots to count and just a couple WL or rejections.

well but he has an advantage coming from a jesuit high school
harder if coming from public and not catholic

you think someone applying to ND & Georgetown might be catholic?

Villanova
Bc
Loyola Marymount

Done - they’ll get into one of them if they were median students for nd and gtown

Your child should have applied to at least one safety school that they love. You need to fire whoever has been advising you/her.

Why would a public non catholic consider holy cross ?

The value prop isn’t really there

A kid who is competitive for holy cross that is public school non Catholic is a better fit for flashship public or tons of good non-Catholic privates
