Not taking new patients |
The problems with the US are: A. unhealthy lifestyles due to a variety of reasons ranging from car reliant communities to surrounding people constantly with ultra processed food combined with to toxic stress for marginalized groups B. significant portion of the population lacks health insurance C. Healthcare is extremely expensive Nationalized healthcare could solve B but not A, and might address C but not easily or immediately. And the large portion of the population with good health insurance, especially PPOs, is going to fight tooth and nail to keep the status quo. Just ask anyone who has switched from Kaiser to a PPO. Kaiser is good for keeping costs low and reducing administrative burden, but they achieve the low costs by not providing care that people could benefit from, but don't immediately need. |
