People's faces/heads lengthen along with their bodies. Tall people, male and female, tend to have "longer" faces/heads (this is fact) just like they have longer limbs. Short people have correspondingly shorter, rounder faces, which gives a neotenous (youthful) vibe. Neoteny is considered sexually attractive in women, but not so attractive in men. This is probably one of the major reasons (along with sexual dimorphism) why so many men seem to go for short women |
Elegance is nearly exclusive for the tall, as is regal. I've never seen a short regal man or woman. |
People associate size with status/power. So people will subconscious expect the taller person in any relationship to be more assertive / leader / dominant. So a taller person might need to be more assertive to overcome the other person's increased inhibitions against acting toward you. |
I don't think men are attracted to short women because they're short, but because it's easier to look youthful and stereotypically feminine when you're short. A shorter torso creates the illusion of more dramatic curves. Smaller women retain their "cuteness" longer than taller women do. If you can manage to stay thin, short ages very well. |
My 6'3 tall male friend only dates women 5'9 and above. He is obsessed with having tall children. |
I dont know... I feel like men LOVE sassy short women. So often I'll see a 5'0 woman bossing around some 6'3 man. They seem a lot feistier and more aggressive and assertive than tall women. (Which is maybe part of the appeal?) |
I mean, there's so many... Elizabeth Taylor, Calista Flockhart, Joan Collins, the list goes on and on. Though I dont know how many men truly care about "elegant", tbh. I think that's more of a thing women and gay men look to. |
Of course petite women can be graceful - ever see a ballerina? |
I'm 5'6" and I agree that I've never, ever wanted to be shorter, and when in heels I feel perfect (though I do end up chatting more with men than women at heeled events, maybe related to height.) I do think my friends are are extremely tall (5'10" and taller) had a harder time finding mates. |
Completely opposite - I'm 5'1" and never felt an ounce of envy for taller women even though I'm apparently squatty, inelegant, and look bad in clothes ![]() |
I'm 5'5 so truly feel I can give an unbiased assessment. Between the two I would 100% prefer to be shorter if given the option, because I too notice the increased attention short women get from men. I feel like I'm right in the middle and frankly I think it's a sweet spot but if I was forced to gain/lose inches I'd lose em no contest... easy choice. Men go crazy over a 5'2 woman. |
No, men tolerate a pain in the ass if she is in the right place on the hot vs. crazy graph. |
Right. So evidently they must find short women a lot hotter since I see them acting a lot "crazier" |
Can’t find the post now, but someone posted above how hard it is to be short and not thin. Because proportionally it just looks more off. I have had to adjust my eating quantities soooo much being 5’0”.
1. Overweight and losing weight 2. Realize I need to eat less than other people. Took me 30+ years to realize (though I wasn’t overweight until age 32, so I guess I did fine eating bigger portions until then) 3. Restaurant portions, or even backyard bbq portions, can be insane So three reasons to eat less. Because I don’t need to eat as much for my size. I’m losing weight. And the portions are too large for average sized people. If you see me “eating like a bird” (lunch is yogurt, fruit. And pretzels with hummus), this is why. I do not need a huge portion size of pasta with a salad with a roll with a drink and a dessert. |
Spinners are fun, but crazy is never worth it for long term |
