Wit & Wisdom skinny ankle. On my third pair, I have bought over the past five years from Nordstrom anniversary sale. They are my go to, and I KNOW I look really good in them (butt and thigh and calves ratio LOL). , if But I don’t really care if others think they are out of style or not. I wear them in spring with a T-shirt and a light jacket, in winter with a sweater and ankle boots, and in summer, with a tank top and sandals. I recently pulled out a pair of boot cut from American Eagle that I bought in 2018. The only thing I hate is that the back pocket logo screams “ BOGO $55 American Eagle 2018”. My 15yo daughter insists I look really cute in them though. Not a popular opinion, but I think you should wear what you feel makes you look good and confident. |
I order them online. |
In case it helps anyone I am fully two sizes smaller in CoH/AGolde than I am in Mother. I think it’s Citizens of Humanity running big rather than mother running small. |
I’m a 33/34 though. If you’re a smaller size, they have a lot of these brands at Bloomingdales. But even though Mother runs to 34, the store at least in CC only went up to 31. So order online and also F them. |
Mother stretched for me, too. |
The Ab-sollution ones have basically an elastic waist that they disguise with a button and zipper. I find the they sag pretty quickly unless you wash them every other wear. |
Mother high waisted looker (skinny) or swooner rascal ankle (straight). I am a thin, fairly petite apple with long legs and a flat butt. I can’t wear wide or boot cut jeans. |
I like an high waisted wide leg or straight leg Jean annd have some fondness for rigid denim. So for me, a few pairs of Levi’s 501s and Wedgie Straights. Veronica Beard Taylor Wide Legs. Some ancient J Crew wide legs they don’t make anymore, which I may try to find replacements for on Poshmark. Everlane Way High jeans in a super dark, undistressed denim. AG Alexxis Straights. And a truly truly ancient pair of Wranglers I wore in the 90s as a college student that I recently rescued from my parents’ house. |
Veronica Beard - Carson Ankle Flare. Very flattering and elongating. |
Well I guess I’m the oddball here. I have a butt and a gut, and regular zip-up jeans are so uncomfortable to me, since my belly fat always creates an unflattering profile in them.
Believe it or not, I’ve been buying different colors of the jeggings from CVS and they look so good on me. They hide the belly roll well, and look great with long tees, tunics and my favorite chunky sweaters in the fall. The only downside is that they aren’t the most long-lasting, so they get replaced far more often than a name brand pair. But they’re so cheap and have several different colors that I’ve found it easy to stay stocked up. |
Levi’s rib cage straight or 501s
I think rigid denim sized up looks cool right now. Nothing skin tight. |
Thanks to this thread I ordered the mother weekender jeans flared with the frayed hem. I absolutely absolutely love them, and they even come in an inseam length that I don’t have to hem. Thank you! |
I stopped wearing jeans in my 30s unless I'm going to voulnteer at mu children's school or maybe go pumpkin/christmas tree picking. Dresses make up the majority of my wardrobe, with a few well-cut trousers to mix it up. |
Yes just bought 2 pairs |
