It finally happened to me...

OP's BMI ist 23.5, that's a healthy weight. But I also think Yoga and Walking is not enough exercise to keep the weight.

Otherwise, it is here to stay and maybe even creeping a bit. It is just so jarring because I have weighed the same for 30 years. I do yoga daily and walks 2-3 a week but have not yet done weight lifting. I am just not sure I can do deprivation diet at this point. I still have my busy life of work and kids so a drastic change to diet is just not happening right now. I retire in 5 years and maybe then I will have more time to do more focused dieting.

OP I’m sure you’ve heard this, but weight loss happens in the kitchen. Sure you could add weight lifting - that would be a great idea at your age. But I’m guessing that your diet needs fine tuning not a drastic unsustainable sprint. IF or restricting will not get you where you want to go - if anything they will slow your metabolism and make matters worse. I’d recommend working with a dietician to evaluate how many calories you really need, track your food via LoseIt or My Fitness Pal (it takes 5 minutes a day) and adjust your macros to prioritize protein. Getting a Dexa or InBody scan would give you a good baseline.

What do you eat? Because if it is unhealthy food you still are going to be unhealthy.

Lift heavy and stop weighing yourself.

100% this. I couldn’t tell you what I weigh. I have no idea. But my clothing size is the same as it’s been for years (some of the same clothes so it’s not vanity sizing). As long as you’re healthy life is too short to worry about the scale.

My eating has not changed. My current diet is mostly IF and low carb with indulgences like pizza once a week and dessert/cocktail on weekends. But the weight crept on this year. I have found unless I go (i) zero carbs, (ii) IF and (iii) no sugar, I cannot get back to 132. The thing is, I like to eat. I eat relatively healthy, but I like to have dessert and a cocktail or two on weekends. I am trying to come to terms with the fact that either I do no carb/no sugar to get back to 132 (which I was always trying to get below anyway) or I just enjoy my life and suck it up at being 137. Anyone relate?

You have a normal BMI, and a 5 pound weight shift can be due to fluid alone. You need to just chill out.

Please do not belittle OP's concern. She made it clear it's been a while. It's not someone having Chinese food and then posting about overnight bloating.
If you can't be helpful, be kind.

OP I've been dieting for two months. Really careful about calories but I need to focus on more protein I think. Lost a little weight at first and now my body has decided to stay here. I need to exercise more but at 49, the weight just doesn't want to come off.
It drives me crazy when people say it's just calories. It isn't. Age and menopause have a lot to do with it.
FYI - 137 is my goal weight. I'm 5'4" and 150lbs and I'm completely stuck here!!!
