Why on EARTH would anyone want to be a Real Housewives cast member??

I have a good friend who was actually was in the cast of a Real Housewives franchise. I was a little surprised at how accurate her on screen life was to her real life.

There was a lot of drama in her personal life and it never came out on the show. Also, a lot of her "wealth" was more family wealth that she didn't have access to. That said, she was here in DC with me once and kept pleading poverty - telling me all her financial woes - and the next day spent $16k on a designer dress.

What about the cost to the men? Or what about the men's problems. NJ dude went to the clink. BH dude...died himself after spending a ton of cash on a baby birthday he wouldn't afford to appease his anorexic wife. Didn't another die and another have financial issues? Bobby in NY...The Knickerbocker lady had some bad man luck...

And the boyfriend from Ladies of London who was thrown from a building.

This is the correct answer.

Think theses shows are ever used for a “case study” in classes? The behavior of X in this clip is…
Narcissistic

Ha! I do as well.

someone at work said they watched it at one of those "tell us something about yourself" team meeting, and when it was my turn, I blurted out, "I certainly don't watch RH". I totally put my foot in my mouth. I did apologize to her afterwards.

That's bit more than putting your foot in your mouth. You essentially outed yourself as a judgmental b1tch in front of your colleagues. If I had been in the meeting, the only one I would have thought less of is you. Who cares what people watch and why?

I just know from the commercials, the plastic surgery, the fake boobs, the fake hair, the massive lips, so bizarre- it grosses me out!

Brings "the Plastics" to an entirely new level.

Did you mean to say it wasn't accurate? You mentioned drama that wasn't shown. Very interesting. Soooo curious!

He died of a rare form of cancer. What does this have to do with the show?

Story doesn’t even sound true unless the team meeting was for self unaware first graders.

No, it was actually pretty accurate. However, the REAL drama in her life didn't appear on screen. Maybe because it was too personal.

I'm the ^PP. Yea, I know, I think I'm on the spectrum sometimes. I blurt out things without thinking.

But, I think I blurted out what most people were thinking.

There are people on here saying that they think a bit less of people who watch these shows. I just said the quiet part out loud, though I do realize that I should not have. I don't really care what you watch, but I do think people who watch shows like this and the Kardashians are a bit shallow, gossipy-types, who love to relive their HS girl drama years.

NP. Why are you in this thread if it is so beneath you? You should be focused on bigger issues, like the fact that you might be “on the spectrum.” Get that figured out.

Just the fact that you’re here to sneer at how beneath you this all is is a rather high school move, yes? As we teach our toddlers, “don’t yuck someone else’s yum.” My elementary kids know not to do that. Maybe you can get some help with your social problems. Good luck.
