This. They all suffer from narcissistic personality disorder. |
Ha! I do as well. |
|
A lot have drinking problems, too. The show is set up to foster frequent drinking and partying and then the messiness that follows. Again- from the person who used to watch:
Luann falls in the bushes and drink arrest DUIs from Shannon and Gina Turtle time and Ramona Vicki whooping it up Emily drunk at Heather’s Leah not drinking and then drinking Drunk Dorit screaming that Camille is the c word That’s a lot of drinking…not typical of real life. |
| Narcissistic personality disorder and cash. Why is Sister Wives still going? money. |
| They think that it adds value to their “brand.” And they think it’s okay to consider people brands. |
| The social media of aspiring Housewives is always a tell. Lots of glamorous, international “girls” trips, all in order to show off designer clothing and luxury hotels/resorts. It’s as if they’re saying, “Look at me, Bravo! Wouldn’t I be perfect for your next installment?” So, so obvious. |
| Every one of those people truly believes they’re going to be the next Kardashian. |

There are people who want to be rich, people who want to be famous, and people who want to be rich AND famous. This is true in the world, not just Housewives.
You have some who are on the show to promote and grow their own business ventures and keep their "private lives" as far as loved ones and stuff basically off the show (Jenna Lyons on NYC) - these ones don't want (or need) more attention necessarily, but will put up with it if it will make them rich (or richER) her case. You have some who are on the show because they want fame, and either the money is secondary, or they don't really need it to begin with. Think Erika Jayne when she started the show (when Tom still had money). I think the majority fall into the third category, to varying degrees - where they have some money and fame, and want more of both. Heather Dubrow comes to mind. As does Lisa Rinna. |
| No idea, but probably more fun than a 9-5 job |
someone at work said they watched it at one of those "tell us something about yourself" team meeting, and when it was my turn, I blurted out, "I certainly don't watch RH". I totally put my foot in my mouth. I did apologize to her afterwards.
|
I'd rather work a 9 to 5 than be a public spectacle. |
Look at the former Lauri Peterson. She bagged a wealthy guy and wisely quit the show for her happily ever after. |
| Bethany Frankel had openly said that she went on the show to generate publicity for her business. |
| I would do it for the paycheck and to have a platform to create or sell something. |
| Some housewives have used it well to increase their public proile for $$$. Bethenny has done well. Heather Gay from SLC has stayed out of trouble and become a prominent ex-Mormon helping others leave the cult. |
