NP. Same for my DS, now a sophomore at Vanderbilt. He also couldn't be persuaded to throw his hat in the ring for places like Columbia or Yale -- he definitely had the resume to buy an Ivy lotto ticket -- because he wanted no more part of the progressive thought police that he had endured for the last decade in DC.

I'm sure Ted Cruz (Princeton/Harvard), Tom Cotton (Harvard/Harvard), and Josh Hawley (Stanford/Yale) would agree with you.

LMAO. It is kinda funny that these uber Ivy educated politicians can convince families to not pursue the exceedingly valuable education that they themselves received. Y'all are definitely suckers.

Where are they saying that? Precisely where

What? You didn't read the effete Josh Hawley's book on manliness? Maybe its forward was by Lindsay Graham?

Don't forget Ron DeSantis (Yale/Harvard).

Wait ! Did all of these people attend college in 2022 to 2026? No?

Is it _possible_ that college culture has morphed somewhat since these men attended, evermore to the left?

Why the FOUR eye-rolleys? Is there something wrong with the PP? Should everyone aspire to Colby

They were a response to the poster stating that their DS turned down Ivies that he totally could've gotten into because of "progressive thought police". If he wanted to go to a southern school so he can be racist and homophobic without consequences, he should just say that.

Nope, I said DS had the resume adequate to buy a lottery ticket to apply. How did you know my son was homophobic? I mean, of course that's true, and he's racist and he also kicks puppies and steals candy from kids on Halloween ... but how did you KNOW this? So amazing!

There are a lot of people struggling to recognize how grim the NE schools are now, I guess. And the grimness has very little to do with “wokeness.”

I think expansion to the south and west is good for the country as a whole. Let the competitive kids spread out. It will be better overall.

+1
So much deliberate obtuseness from the PPs.

Exactly.

Tennessee. Like people are crawling over each other to get to that state.

I mean, compared to the states that your precious Ivies are in? YES! Tennessee's growth significantly outpaces the growth of every single state that Ivies are in, so...4 of 8 Ivies are in states that are in the bottom 5 states for growth since 2010...7 of 8 are in states in the bottom half...the "best" is New Hampshire/Dartmouth, which is #25...

But who needs facts when you have conjecture?

It’s even more hilarious that the people pushing all the woke nonsense claim it barely exists & you’d have to be crazy to not want to be around it.

Anonymous wrote:Seems a lot of trolling mixed in here. Is someone trying to deter applicants from NE schools, or is it the right wing propaganda poster(s) again? I get so tired of the railing against this stereotype of "wokeness."

Fair enough. But there is also such a thing as sickofallthisbullshit. Not sure if that's a word. There are a lot of people that want a good education AND have the space to figure things out in a dynamic space. And that is not happening in most New England colleges.

This is not a Trump thing. Everyone hates Trump. But no one wants to spend four years walking on eggshells.

Schools in the South, Midwest. and - sometimes - the West, are far freer than the poor-weather, ideological rabbit-holes of the Northeast. And applications reflect that.

Enjoy Villanova. Or Dennison.

After a SLAC tour, my super liberal girl is only looking at big state schools. “They are all the same person. I like that person a lot, but why would I want to be surrounded by people that were all the same.”
