Gluten-free, dairy-free, fat-free, nut-free birthday treats

You have a lot of good ideas.

I vote for the ice cream bar, with a dairy/gluten/fat-free sorbet option and some fat and gluten free topping options. Just be sure to keep the dairy/gluten/fat-free items separated and everything should have its own serving spoon.

My next choice would be a candy bar with all gluten/fat free choices, like gummy bears, gummy worms, sour patch kids, jelly beans, dum dum pops, tootsie rolls (check for fat), marshmallows.

I also like the idea of a giant swirly 🍭 for each kid, esp if you hand out as a favor.

The fat free one is the hardest to accommodate. I would ask the mom for suggestions. “I really want to make sure Larla is included in favors. Can you suggest a fun treat she can enjoy?”

If you’re nearby, Red Bandana Bakery in Bethesda can accommodate lots of different allergies and they are easy to order online. I did have one of their cakes and didn’t like it, but I’m not gluten free like the person the cake was for so maybe it was actually good for gluten free. Everyone seems to rave about them.

Twizzlers are not gluten-free.

OP here. Thank you to everyone who provided very very thoughtful suggestions and not just snark. I am grateful.

These aren't just dietary "preferences"; the kids involved have medical reasons why they need to avoid these ingredients, including fat.

Candy apples.

There is a vegan cupcake recipe that uses baking soda and vinegar and no eggs that I have used successfully with gluten-free flour (I have celiac disease). It does have canola oil, but I'm wondering if you could substitute the oil with applesauce to make it fat free. It would take some experimenting. The chocolate version would only need a dusting of powdered sugar on top, or you could make them dirt cupcakes with gummy worms.

Are you a medical support group? The odds are astronomically against having all of these issues in one social group. You are really patient.

Not usually gluten free. Kellogg’s Rice Krispies are coated in malt.

My suggestion would be meringues.

I came here to post this. Ha! But glad you got a good list OP.

It's impossible to survive without any fat in the diet. For a short-term it's doable, but brain and body function will ultimately collapse without any.

I suspect people with allergies of this kind wouldn't take chances on a homemade recipe at this party.

Just given them frozen water and be a totally that insane parent. People want their kid not to eat cake at a birthday party, they should be the ones to tell their kid no.

Amen.

Would s'mores would be low fat enough? There are gluten-free graham crackers and dairy-free chocolate. Maybe there is a substitute for chocolate if you the fat content for it is too high?

I agree with others that you can't "bake" anything (including rice crispy treats) without fat. Unless you are specifically talking about animal fat??

The OP didn't say vegan, so real eggs are okay.

Eggs have fat, but maybe sub all egg whites?

Meringue cookies from Trader Joe’s.

This or homemade meringues will be your best bet for no gluten, dairy, nuts, or fat. They are pure sugar but luckily that's not on your list!
