Looks like a new Gaza war has started

We think it will help us but it really never goes. It's a lose-lose proposition on both sides because of the killing but make no mistake, politically it was the only leverage Arabs had to a situation they would otherwise lose. Netanyahu us not a peacemaker he's just as militant as Hamas he just didn't kill anyone outright but he does want to kill Arabs.

Like it or not war is good for the leaders on both sides. Remember 9/11? Remember when Russia invaded the Ukraine? Netanyahu has been poking Hamas for almost a year. He needs this war. Remember the protest in the street and the reservists refusal to answer callups? Now he can push through his vision for Israel and if you protest you are the enemy. If you do not report to your unit you are at best a traitor.

I would not be surprised to see crack downs and heavy handed restrictions put in place pretty quickly.

Yes. Democrats won't want to fund this war and Republicans will.

Moderate democrats will - and should - stand with israel. Unless the squad has them by the balls.

It will indeed be different for some because "something something Zionists."

And the backlash will be swift against Israel even though they were attacked because of “something something anti-semitism”

Just saw pics from news of elderly people in Israel shot in the head at a bus station and numerous motorists, killed in their cars on the highway for no reason.

Just brutal. Hamas deserves what we destruction they get here.

Doesn’t matter. They need to caucus together. And incumbents like Chuck schumer need to pretend to be progressive to keep their jobs in states that have been filling seats previously occupied by moderate Dems (and often Jewish ones) with progressive reps.

…because the Arabs want to kill Jews.

Vicious cycle: religious hate…fight for power…political spin…terrorism and war…rinse and repeat.

Both sides are to blame when you look at the conflict in its totality. And you can’t cherry pick facts/incidents to blame one side.

How about an audacious social experiment?

Unify both areas and people with a global UN led government backed by international peacekeeper military police. Confiscate civilian weapons. Implement Japanesque societal based mores with strict law enforcement peppered with intentional kumbayah school teachings to drum it into everyone’s heads that we are all the same and must coexist peacefully. Incentivize interfaith marriage and take steps to foster tolerance.

It’s going to take bold action to change hearts and minds of religious extremists…which exist on both sides.

Loos like they used money to buy weapons.

We give weapons to Israel. Israel uses them pretty indiscriminately. If we did not arm Israel, Israel would have made peace many years ago. Instead we have endless war. The only reason we as a country are involved is because of our evangelistic Christian population want the end times.

If you want to stop funding this you have to stop funding both sides.

Worst is happening in the Ukraine. Israel chose to not support the Ukrainians.
