As I understand it, the boys coach was too busy with personal matters to do it. This had nothing to do with the girls. The girls side has its act together. Too bad for the boys, because this is Oakton’s biggest fundraising vehicle. |

News flash: with these types of events it’s the head parent and volunteer parents that make this possible. Yes the coach for the team has a role in the execution, but I would not blame the girls program because they have their act together.
If the boys head coach can’t help run it, then the assistants should step up and the boys parents should step up. Sounds like none of them did and looking to blame others. Anyone involved with events like this 100% know that the parents run the show while the coaches still have some input, the parents run everything. Don’t blame the state champs because they actually stepped up and got their act together |
News Flash: If the roles were reversed I guarantee the boys program would had stepped up to help get the girls tournament going. Just as they had in the past! A school should be unified on all fronts and helping each other. Please get off your girls lacrosse high horse "State Champ". Exactly what a previous posted said. Its selfishness to say "got their act together, we dont need to help them". If I were the boys coach, I wouldn't string another goal for the girls ever, until they show the respect in return. Take, take, take.... |
Please continue! This is pure gold! |

Sounds like there are some serious issues with Oakton's Lacrosse programs... Boys program in shambles? Girls Program creating drama?
All in all, we should all agree this is a bad look for Oakton as a whole. This is a historical tournament that the NOVA lax community (especially the players) look forward to every year. How we all forget about 2020, when lax was taken away from us. We would had done anything to have the kids play then. Now this.... ? Lost a lot of respect for cougar country. |
I also think a lot of the good NOVA Boys lacrosse players feel the need to have to play at a Private School to be seen. Which is ashame.... |
What does that have anything to do with this conversation? "I like lamp". |
That is because it is true. Recruiting has been historically poor for the 2024/2025 classes for N.VA public schools. Previous years 2019-2023 have easily double the number of high level D1 committed players in each class. |
| Go troll elsewhere. |

Instead of spreading rumors and bashing a program, why don’t you go find out the real reason the boys could not host the Turkey shootout and then report back to us. But keep in mind, there are oakton people on this board that know the true reason (which for some reason you fail to believe)
If your so bitter about not having the tournament, why don’t you step up and volunteer and get er done |
| You all trolling so hard without knowing the actual circumstances are so lame -- bashing Oakton girls (and parents) might be a fun pile on opportunity but is completely incorrect. Have your fun but you are wrong losers. |
It a troll posts just stating facts. Maybe 4-5 total d1 commits in Nova Public Schools this spring. |
