Of course the ex sounds "rehearsed" and "controlled." She is a smart smart woman who is gathering evidence against her abuser. Good for her. I hope she drains him for every penny he's worth, minus what he provides his various exes and children. For what it's worth, the Today Show just had some "audio expert" analyze the tapes and he said they are authentic. I totally believe it. And I really wonder what his ex-wife has to say about all this. I bet Oprah et al are ringing her phone off the hook. I haven't been able to stomach Mel for a while now, so I hope he just goes away. I would have thought Snoop could fit into this too, but just the other day I read about him and his family. He is married, has an 11 year old daughter with Lupus, and is quite the family man. His daughter's disease has brought his wife and him closer, and they seem like a really tight and loving family.

I'm not even the person you are talking about, but I find your whole Anti-Catholic thing about as unreasonable as people who shout anti-semitism at anyone who has a bad thing to say about Israel. You make good Catholics look bad when you do it.

I'm one of the posters you're responding too, and I'm not Catholic. My thing is that it's really hypocritical for people here to be criticizing Mel for bigotry, while saying offensive things about Catholics.

There is a bigot on DCUM, and she's posted yesterday on a thread about a private Catholic school.

I enjoy sophisticated humor about religion, even my own.

But I strongly oppose bigotry in any form, whether it's old Mel or a DCUM poster. And I will continue to stomp on it.

And did I mention, I'm not Catholic?

I agree, the Church as an institution has done lots of things wrong. But none, none, of the posts here have criticized the institution. They've criticized the religion itself.
