What’s a healthy breakfast for a commuter?

Banana milkshake— 1 cup of low-fat milk and a banana with some ice, and cinnamon. If you want extra protein, add a scoop of vanilla whey protein powder. This is surprisingly filling. You can add espresso to it too, if that’s your jam.

I always eat at my desk, plain Greek yogurt and I mix in blueberries , cinnamon and walnuts, I put the fruit and nuts together in a bag from home.

Not at all an on the go food.

Also not healthy—full of antinutrients and glyphosate

Don’t be ridiculous. Oatmeal - especially made from steel oats - is not unhealthy.

Right? I feel really bad for the person in this thread who has these strange ideas about food. Plus, if you’re worried about the “anti-nutrients” you can always soak your oats overnight with a little yogurt before cooking the . Very old school Weston price approach to oats, which is quite tasty.

I'm on a new routine of getting up at 5 AM and out the door by 5:20-5:30 this week, and I've been making a quick egg and cheese sandwich, wrapping it in foil, and eating it at work around 6:30-7 AM; surprisingly it's kept me full until 11-11:30. I know it's not the world's healthiest - I had wanted to pre-cook some egg muffins with veggies and didn't have time on the weekend - but when you're up that early something hearty is good, and sounds a lot like OP's original fast food preference.

I have to leave the house by 6:45am for work. I have coffee preset to auto-brew. I usually have (on a rotating basis but usually the same thing several mornings in a row):
-plain yogurt with berries and slivered almonds
-overnight oats with berries and nuts
-oatmeal (raw oats made w/ half whole milk, half water) with half a banana and blueberries
-two eggs fried with lid on over toast w/ avocado
All of these options keep me full until 12:30pm and can be prepared in 5 minutes or less.

When I make oatmeal or overnight oats, I make enough for 3-4 meals and just warm up in the morning.

Breakfast is a great time to get more vegetables in. Egg cups loaded with veggies - spinach, broccoli, bell peppers, mushrooms - are easy to make ahead and reheat in the morning. Or egg and bean breakfast burritos.

I've got my morning smoothie routine down pat -- I can make a smoothie and wash the blender out in under 5 minutes. If I want to round it out, I'll do a bagel with butter or peanut butter in foil as well. You need a special to-go cup for smoothies but they are easy to find.

I prefer just fruit smoothies but if I used frozen berries as a base I can also incorporate greens and it doesn't ruin the flavor for me. Can also use things like peanut butter, avocados, etc. to make it more of a protein shake (not in the same smoothie, heh). I make sure I have my ingredients all set to go on Sunday night so that when I am making them, I can just toss stuff in and go. I use frozen fruit except for bananas (always fresh for that) because then you don't have to prep the fruit at all and it improves the consistency of the smoothie.
