Activities drop off or wait around depending on commute

2 hours and it’s a 30 minute drive ? I’d try to arrange carpools but short of that, I’d definitely stay there. Gym, work, shop, maybe meet up with a friend in that part of town if I knew anyone

I’d rather be home for an hour than kill 2.

How do people go to the grocery store without getting anything perishable?

No, we are, but it sounds like either our timing is better or we have more work flexibility or both. Or our kids are older.

On nights when activities are on the later side, we shift and have family dinner before; earlier activities mean slightly later dinner. In the latter, the parent at home handles any necessary dinner prep. I think a lot of families deal with activities multiple evenings/week - that doesn't mean they do the same thing every night or every week. Also, our activities aren't *that* far away that perishables are going to spoil.

They will if you are "too far" away to go home during the multi hour practice.

There’s this awesome new invention called…wait for it…a COOLER! It’s insulated so it keeps things cold and you can even PUT ICE PACKS IN IT to keep things really cold!
