People must not be dealing with this several nights a week as we are. One of us drops off and the other picks up and in the interim we go home to make dinner, supervise/do homework with the other kids, tidy up, etc. How do people go to the grocery store without getting anything perishable?
No, we are, but it sounds like either our timing is better or we have more work flexibility or both. Or our kids are older. On nights when activities are on the later side, we shift and have family dinner before; earlier activities mean slightly later dinner. In the latter, the parent at home handles any necessary dinner prep. I think a lot of families deal with activities multiple evenings/week - that doesn't mean they do the same thing every night or every week. Also, our activities aren't *that* far away that perishables are going to spoil.
They will if you are "too far" away to go home during the multi hour practice.
