Winning independent suburban women

This thread got quickly derailed and I think that’s great. Are you getting it yet op?
Or whoever else is asking snarky personal questions?
No amount of family dinners is going to matter, and as a woman living in coveted Lake County Ohio, I find these distractions offensive.
Your suggestions make women out to be silly and stupid. It’s insulting and doesn’t sway us to vote for your candidate. We weren’t fooled by issue 1 and we won’t be fooled by this.

What percentage of “Independent suburban women” rank abortion as their only voting criteria?

I can see why liberal, inner city women would rank abortion #1. But not sure that independent suburban women would follow suit in the same percentages…..

“I just can’t fathom that woman would value their personal autonomy. Surely they don’t believe they are capable of making the best choice for their lives, bodies, and families. Certainly they would prefer commercials with candidates singing lullabies to their children over personal freedom”

Single digits.

Compare that to jobs, schools, safety.

The funny thing about abortion and all this thread is that if you go by polling, Reps still won the clear majority of married women and married mothers. It's single women, especially childless single women, where the Democrats win in a blowout landslide. Staggeringly so. Which is a bit ironic.

All this talk about independent suburban women is meaningless. Married suburban women are already voting for the Republicans. So I'm not sure exactly how many independent suburban women there really are to make a difference. It's just one demographic group among many others. It's not 1995 anymore.

And, last but not least, going by all the polls, abortion rights is way down the list of priorities across the voting demographics.

Sure. Go with that.

You are underestimating the suburban mom who has daughters and is now concerned about their rights.

I don't think you should be so fast to count them out

Not sure jobs or schools is a point in favor of a conservative. The independents don't like the culture wars, and unemployment is low again.

All of those can be related to choice. Choice is not a silo, it is related to almost every issue.

Republican governors sure seem to be doing a great job with crime

I have voted R in the past and may vote R in the future. Once this abortion issue is past. Every R candidate who swears fealty to banning abortion loses my vote and the large majority of American votes.

Weird that you “don’t want to talk about them”. I wonder why.

It’s because of d-bags like you.

My chart was tagged “habitual aborter.” Miscarriages are also abortions.

They said abortion wasn’t a deciding factor in the 2022 midterms. Remember the huge red wave….?
Oh wait. That didn’t happen. And republicans are getting their asses kicked in almost every special election.
Meanwhile every news cycle brings some new horror story about women denied healthcare.
But go ahead and show childless Tim Scott reading to kids. That’ll do it. Just need to “feel” like he’s a great guy. That’s all the little ladies need to know.

Women under 50 are getting out and voting for pro choice candidates and issues since the detestable Dobbs decision.

This is also driving the youth vote.

Wonder why? Anybody with two brain cells to rub together knows an ill-timed pregnancy is the road to ruin in this country.
