I am used to good bagels, I grew up in Westchester. I have lived here 30 years. Bethesda Bagels used to be decent, but they have changed their recipe/method and they suck now, agree the texture is wrong and too similar to a roll. WHY is it so hard to make good bagels outside of the tri-state area?? And don’t feed me the line about the water. |
1000+ And great owners who are there most days… |
interesting - I will have to try. |
OP here. Possibly the most intriguing tip on the post. I will try them! |

+1 for Bullfrog.
I wish I could get Buffalo and Bergen's bagel sandwich options or Call Your Mother's candied salmon cream cheese on a Bullfrog bagel. That would be perfect. |
This is the answer. |
| Another vote for Bagels etc. Nothing comes close. |
Yea, agree. Baked by Yael. |

| In Baltimore, Essen Room has the best bagels. None of others compare. |
| I was happy to see the votes for Giant. I agree and it’s certainly convenient to be able to pick up other things |
| H+H bagel is coming soon! |
Have you actually had any of the other bagels mentioned on this thread? |
That’s fantastic news! |
