I'm not an expert, but I like Giant bagels.
|
I went recently and was disappointed. So bread-y! |
Have you tried BeanBag Deli and Goldbergs, also in Rockville? We like their bagels better than CYM and BB, though we do like Bullfrog the best. |
| The bagelry outside of dc is good. I didn’t like call your mother. |
Agreed...I mean better than the Giant Bakery but not on a list of good. |
| A vote for Bullfrog |
|
I like Bethesda Bagels “flagels”, which have less of the overly-bready middle. If they would make their normal bagels less oversized, I think it would solve the problem. But even in NYC, bagels seem to have doubled in size over the past 20y.
The bagels I love the best are the ones I make at home. They’re the right size, with the right proportions, and irresistibly warm and fresh. (And yes, they’re fussy: I do the lye bath and all). |
These are actually good. I also like bagels etc. |
| It's been mentioned a couple of times but I'll say it again. Bagels, etc. And yes, they make their own bagels daily. |
This New Yorker agrees. |
| Another vote for Pearls. They are the right size and have the right amount of chew. |
| Bullfrog all the way. Used to work half a block from the eastern market one and miss it so much. Just discovered their permanent food truck in friendship heights though! |
| Bullfrog was such a disappointment. I vote for Bethesda. |
| Believe it or not….. Giant Food bagels when they are fresh. They are perfect! |
Came here to look for this. Totally correct (Though I have serious doubts about the bagel opinions of anyone who thinks bullfrog bagels is good.) |
