was 1/6 an insurrection and are we in the throes of a civil war?

Idaho would like a word. This whole "National Divorce" is a joke. I almost welcome these stupid graphics so MAGA can see how ridiculous the proposition is.

Well, shoot. I thought the Russian troll farms were over, too busy warring against Ukraine and then relocating to Belarus.

I'm a lib and I would love a national divorce.

That said I agree that Putin would love the balkanization of the US.

I don't see southern Caliofinia, purple Arizona, blue New Mexicoo, Libertarian West Virginia, purple Virginia or a break-off part of Maryland going for this. And more egregious, big metopolitan areas like Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Raleigh-Durham, Asheville, Louisville, Lexington, Miami, Orlando (and Disney) Jacksonville etc going for this.

Give them a referendum.

Yeah Frederick County is over there saying wait a second…
Also check out Illinois’s gerrymandered Congressional map represented. 😆

But then again, some of you would need to first wake up and understand that this is what is going on.

+1

Climate change is real, affecting millions right now and the same old suspects are blocking work on it.

A minority party that’s very good at cheating the system has suspended citizenship for millions of women and has promised that they’ll do the same nationwide. There appears to be no recourse.

People still go bankrupt trying to afford medical care; one petty stands in the way of putting the brakes on medical costs.

But the billionaires are allowed to sit in their multiple mansions, and allowed to run the party that effs us all over.

I would guess that the pp to whom I’m replying is one of the hopeless both sidesers, but I do agree that something about politics and life right now does feel manufactured.

Those same manufacturers of this pretend garbage are behind the cold civil war.

Citizens United killed the US. Thanks Roberts.

online google of "balkanization of the US" yields several different likely map predections - including some made by Russians! But I do think it would be more complex than just North vs. South.

Maybe we need to split up for a while and then negotiate something like the EU a century or two later.

A civil war from the inside. Look up Leonard Leo and his benefactors - most dangerous people in America. Abortion rights might be the final issue that sinks the US.

Russians don't really understand American politics and demographics well enough. They just ran with some weird notion of "the south"

Americans are very divided on many issues but abortion rights is not one of them. Percentages in the 70s, maybe even 80s, favor protection of abortion rights.

Sure. Propose actual cuts rather than a vague "smaller government" - as it is, we are running less efficiently because the government has been outsourcing functions to consulting firms which are hundreds of times more expensive than doing their work in house. So specifically, what would you propose cutting, and then we can see what impact that would have on the states, businesses and individuals to see if it would make sense to cut.

In other words, there is a reason those asking for cuts never propose something specific, because on balance, the roles that most, if not all in our government play, are critically important to some constituency.

Here is one GOP candidate's solution

Lovely people.

let the inbreds cry about a stolen election. Who cares. The only civil war is the one in their heads. Most civilized people don't give a crap about what these lunatics say.

I sit back in my nice home, having a bourbon, laughing as they tear themselves apart and scream about civil war.
