was 1/6 an insurrection and are we in the throes of a civil war?

Don't give me any counterpoints about how they're wrong, don't care- I'm simply stating what their point of view and intention was.

There were over 60 lawsuits where those claiming fraud had the opportunity to make their cases. Many of them in front of Trump appointed judges. Guess what....no proof. To this day, there is no proof. You know why? IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Climate change? Ripping up the ocean floor to drill down wind farms is one of the worst man made environmental disasters in our time. God only knows how many more whales will be slaughtered because of your Democrat agenda.

The changes don't really care if you believe in them or not. Mother nature will you squash you like everyone else and move on. Your opinion about the destruction irrelevant.

1) the time to be heard was at the ballot box. Disrupting the ceremonial electoral count was anti-constitution
2) they wanted to be heard because they were upset about an election that wasn't actually stolen, that didn't have material fraudulent votes cast and the final result didn't go their way.
3) it was clear this was a three pronged attack on our country:
- fake electors scheme
-fake Pence send the votes back to the states or throw the electoral count to the congress
-violent coup

Fortunately none of these worked, but not for lack of trying. There was actually a war room in the Willard Hotel, with the likes of John Eastman and others coordinating all three efforts.

People don't air their grievances with Congress by bearing weapons like guns, knives, bear spray and using flags as spears etc, at least not people with good intentions.

Exactly. They wanted their "outrage heard by Congress" - yet their outrage was ENTIRELY based on lies fed to them by Trump & Company. And they way in which they expressed it - and were encouraged to express it - was illegal, violent, and un-democratic.

Those are just the facts. We need for this nation to leave the lies behind.

I would bet the poster justifying the 1/6 insurrection has no idea that yesterday Giuliani admitted to lying about the Georgia election workers having falsified votes. They don’t talk about that sort of thing on Fox, OAN and Newsmax.

Expressing an opinion is one thing.
Storming the US Captiol on a day of a Constitutionally mandated action is another.
If you, or the insurrectionists, cannot see the difference, that is a them problem. And many are rightfully spending time in prison thinking about it.

Exactly.

Think about the lies being told over the years:

The Clintons murdered Vince Foster.
The Clintons murdered Seth Rich.
The Republicans are the party of law and order, peace through strength abroad, family values and economic restraint.
Obama was a Muslim.
Obama was not an American.
The Economy under Obama was horrible.
Hillary Clinton passed confidential information on to our enemies via her email server
The economy under Trump was the best (it was the same as Obama's)
Trump is a good Christian.
The Second Amendment is the right for individuals to bear arms of any kind without restraint.
The 2000 Election was stolen.
There were millions of fraudulent ballots cast without any check.

I could go on, but this goes back decades...everything above is a lie. Every.Single.One. Proven over and over and yet, we have just under half of our country believing the above, hook, line and sinker. And that is without getting into things like climate change, vaccinations and abortion - science that has been compleatly bastardized by people who have been corrupting our country for a long time. Look at where the Koch Brothers got their money as an example of how far back this goes.

Right up till the 2000 election claim. Sorry, you can’t just have the Supreme Court stop all counting because of appearances and just declare a winner and think that election was fair.
But otherwise that’s a great, if very partial, list of claims believed by right wingers because it’s been streamed directly into their brains and they will believe anything.

We’ve been in a civil war for some time. Read Jeff Sharlot’s The Undertow.

There is a process for having your voice heard. It’s called voting.

OOOps, that should have been 2020.

Yes it was an insurrection. We all saw what happened. It's a matter of public record that Trump incited the riot and did nothing about it while his staff and family members PLEADED with him to tell them to stop.

SATSQ.

PP, ok beyond voting, there are the courts if you thought foul play. 60 cases brought, 60 cases lost.

Many criminals think their crimes are justified. Doesn’t make it so.

Uh huh, Dems just randomly started being mean when Trump was elected, prior to that there was no dirty politics on anyone else's part.
