DCUM posters, just like you!

Actually I think the moms here are jealous of the girls’ looks and wealth. They try in instill in their daughters to be brainy and study hard when in the end, we all know it doesn’t matter.

This is my reaction, too. Who writes this way about their teenage children. It is disturbing.

My daughter was accepted to HC but decided to go to a school that is known for more rigorous academics. She liked HC and enjoyed her shadow day very much. She didn't get any sense the girls are snobby, however, they aren't her type of girl is what she said. Honestly, that "type" is everywhere--the type that likes to spend time applying makeup, do tik tok videos, and post a lot on social media. Plenty of those girls at her school as well. And just because you are into that doesn't make you a snob or stupid. Plenty of very bright girls who like to wear makeup! But because the school is so small, she felt she would connect with girls more like her more easily with a larger student body. She also has very high aspirations to attend a top university and do pre-med, so she really wanted to increase her chances of that by attending one of those more challenging schools.

Snobby about what? Attending a 4th tier school with mediocre college admissions results?

There admissions are pretty good actually:

You and I must have a different definition of “pretty good.” The highest ranked schools I saw were the University of Michigan, UVA and Georgetown (about 1 admit per school). I didn’t see a single Ivy, or even a top 20 university.

That’s pretty mediocre in my world.

I agree. These college admissions are mediocre. They could have gone to equal or better from their local public school.

Ha! That's okay. My looks and wealth make up for it.

I think this has been said already but they don't NEED to go to what you perceive as a top school. They will be well taken care of no matter where they go. Unlike most of the kids of parents on here, these girls are beautiful AND wealthy AND will probably marry wealthy, charismatic successful men. They don't have same desperation you have for your kids to get into a top school and "be somebody" - they are going to be somebody regardless.

Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder. However, none of those girls are beautiful (some are above average, at best). They’re especially not good looking enough to bring nothing else to the table. Pretty girls are everywhere. How will they compete with girls who are actually BEAUTIFUL, smart, wealthy and charming?

Btw, beautiful smart girls don’t have to come from wealthy families to marry well. Ask Duchess Meghan Markle. I bet your grandchildren won’t be princes and princesses like her children.

You do realize that Meghan herself was wealthy when she met Prince Harry?? That helps. Men like that don't marry the poors.

Whatever wealth Meghan had pales in comparison to her husband’s wealth, and the family wealth of the women in his circle.
