Which U.S. Presidents had genuinely good, solid marriages?

He will probably trade her in for number 4 soon enough.

John and Abigail Adams will forever be the high water mark of Presidential marriages.

I think Biden, Obama, Bush, Bush, Reagan, carter, Ford, Nixon, LBJ, Truman, Hoover , TR.

More good than bad lately.

Having lived in other countries, I find our obsession with the spouses and marriages of our presidents a bit odd. In other countries, spouses mostly participate in ceremonial events like state visits, etc. and may perform some charity work, but they mostly keep a low profile--with exceptions, of course. Here the relationship is a big deal. I wish we weren't voting for a package deal when we vote for a president but it seems like we frequently are.

The Obamas, the Carters.

Not sure about older Bush.

Worst might be Kennedy, Roosevelt and Clinton.

Lol. Nope. Obama was always faithful.

+1 I admire them very much.

Do you admire the image of Obamas created by media or their actual life? Because those are two different things. I am not saying that what they do in their personal life is morally wrong, but it is definitely not your exemplary Christian family.

Do you have a cite for this? What has not been "exemplary Christian" in their conduct?

Why do you care about people's private lives?

He had a long running affair, but I get a feeling Barbara was aware.

Things were and are a bit different in wealthy families. I’m not excusing it, but I think they are of their time.

And don’t forget he ran the CIA

With a comment like that, I can only assume you did not vote for Trump.Given the immorality of his marriages, business dealings, etc.

Haven’t you heard of the almost comically extreme philandering carried out by many Christian pillars of the community?

The two do not necessarily correlate at all.

That affair is doubtful.

In any event the question was good marriage not best husband. Their marriage was great.

No man who is president has been a good husband. You have to give too much of yourself to the country. And too much of yourself on the way up.

I didn’t get the feeling that work took too much time out of Dubya’s day.

(PP likely believes that Obama was born in Kenya and is a Muslim. That’s the quiet little intended dig.)

When I think about it, it seems like most of them did. There's sense to it. You need the strong support of the spouse and family to succeed in politics.

I won't engage in pointless spurious gossip about mistresses or cheating.
