Is there EVER a day he doesn’t get one over on the GOP’ers?!?! I’m loving this!!!!

Sick people.

Work. Pay your debts.

Yes! Including all those PPP loans that were forgiven.

Extremely dumb comparison.

Forgiveness was the key part of the PPP system from the get-go. PPP loans were
made with the condition that they go toward payroll, and that if recipients didn’t do layoffs, the loans would be forgiven. Without forgiveness no one would have accepted the loans and they would have laid off their employees instead, causing an economic catastrophe and social unrest.

And too many people like you just grubbed them up without really needing them under the guise of your BS “businesses.”

I don’t own a business and did not apply for a PPP loan. I probably should have though given the completely lack of effort by the government to detect fraud.

It’s criminal sending youth into the world saddled with debt that pays the insanely unnecessary inflated uncompetitive big education cartel parasites.

This! This is where all of the anger should be directed. Too many fat administrators at these colleges.

And, yet Biden does nothing to deal with the real issue of student debt.

Hate to break it to you but student loans were set up to be forgiven after 20-25 years too.

If they had simply made all the loans discharged by bankruptcy bank would be far more cautious to whom they loan.

I don’t really care about forgiveness after 20 year of meeting payment requirements. But it’s a stupid com to make when advocating for blanket forgiveness.

Agree re bankruptcy.

They are not doing a blanket forgiveness.

Biden and the Democrats started using the PPP argument to justify their $10k forgiveness that was overturned by SCOTUS. And those who continue to advocate for blanket forgiveness still make the PPP comparison, despite its obvious flaws.

I understand trying to appeal to dumb voters (no sin in that!) but no one should take it seriously.

Perhaps people are getting too emotional here
Young persons are supposed to go to college, all young people, not just the ones with a rich daddy

Why do Republicans hate higher education so much?

We don’t, we just believe in legal agreements?

These people did nothing wrong and aren't deadbeats.

+ 1. I think the Biden team is trying to paint this as a win, when it’s just following the original terms.

Then there should be zero controversy in this loan forgiveness because they’re just meeting the terms of the loan agreements.

It’s a win for Biden because his administration identified a problem (loan servicing companies not properly tracking repayments when loans are sold off) and fixing it. Of course this problem was only really exposed due to the pandemic.

As someone who has been making repayments for 24 years when I called to discuss the end of my repayment per the agreement of my loan, they just threw up their hands and said no I had 10 more years of payments because of missing time from a previous loan servicer. It’s an endless trap because of the incompetency of loan servicers who can’t meet the terms of the loans for the government due to their own internal problems. I’m one person with a full time job who can’t really take on the entire student loan servicing industry but Biden can. Thank you Biden!

Why are Republicans so opposed to any form of higher education? People take out loans not only for college but also for trade schools and two-year associates' degrees. Republicans aren't providing any solutions for any of that, and are hurting anyone who tries to pursue any track other than high school education.

It’s because they hate poor people. They hate poor people getting ahead. They proclaimed they “bootstrapped” their way to success and others should too. They have to demonize other groups: poor, liberals, LGBTQ etc.

No other way besides loans or a rich daddy? How about a part time job at Starbucks? They can earn money while working part time and get 100% tuition paid for. Let me guess- your kid doesn’t want to attend Arizona online or work part time. https://www.starbucks.com/careers/working-at-starbucks/education/

There are always other options besides taking out loans.
