Sorry, guns kill, cannabis doesn't. That's where your comparison falls flat.

Once again, nobody said you had to like cannabis legalization. Just deal with it.

plenty of kids die from smoking weed, buying weed, selling weed,

guns don't kill either, the person pulling the trigger does.

How?

Not that poster, but 100% of drug related homicides in Montgomery County are marijuana-related.

What, specifically, is the relation of marijuana to these homicides?

Drug deals gone bad. Turf wars.

Where did you read this? Thanks.

Maryland State Senator Jeff Waldstreicher gave an overview of the legislative session to the County's Criminal Justice Coordinating Commission last month and he stated it. It was a public meeting. https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/boards/Resources/Files/CJCC%20May%2024%202023%20Agenda.pdf

I have heard up to 90% from police, but Waldstreicher is the only person I have heard state any percentage publicly.

Nope. People under 21 still want to use, and the price differential between legal, taxed weed and street weed is huge. There will always be an illegal market.

The illegal market will now be smaller. That's good.

And when was the last time, in MC, that you have seen a cop pull anyone over?
Our current government is off their rockers to legalize without being to enforce when someone is driving high, the smell which never goes away is bothering people, and now more kids being able to access it. I am all for dumbing down society but what they should have legalized was gummies. Not skunk. At this point, I will not feel so bad smoking cigarettes in public. Why should I care anymore what effect it has on others.

One of the points of legalization was indeed to prevent cops from wiping their asses with the bill of rights by lying about smelling cannabis. Not to prevent police from enforcing driving while high.

Your stupidity isn't really doing much to sell your argument here.

I was following a bozo smoking weed today. A cop was driving close by and I slowed down enough so that cop would hopefully move into my lane. He did. The smoker immediately pulled over 2 lanes to turn at the next intersection. Cop did nothing. At the next light, I was next to the cop and asked if he could smell it. He said he could but couldn’t do anything about it. So guess what nasty person, cops out there are not following the bill of rights.

Welp, alcohol and cigarettes are, too, but funny I didn’t see you out being the Town Crier about that.

?? It's illegal for police to pull people over for the smell of weed.

Your elected officials intentionally made it harder to find drugged drivers and build cases against them. It’s important to the industry that the government do nothing to deter any cannabis use, including by minors. You would think we would have learned lessons from regulating alcohol and tobacco but we did not.

Give it a couple years and the industry will be screaming for more enforcement and harsher penalties for unlicensed distribution as they find their legal operations can’t compete with criminals. But they will still fight any measures to get drugged drivers off the road because that’s their core customer base.

Sad but true.

Yeah it did not work that way in Colorado. In fact it's actually hilarious that the tax dollars aren't materializing the way the State thought it would lately. It seems people prefer to grow it at home for free and the cannibas businesses are suffering as are the state's coffers. Totally predictable except by idiot voters/politicians.

Not only that, but the roads are more dangerous.
There are more ER admissions.
An increase in bipolar disorder diagnoses among those with cannabis use disorder diagnoses.
And adverse mental health outcomes for even casual teen users.

All of this is spot on. We continue to spiral downwards as a society beholden to special interests and corrupt politicians.
