I couldn't agree more. Where are you my soul sister?

Ward 1! You can find me to the right of the stash of discarded stolen backpacks and briefcases at the mouth of the alley that's half a block down from the public space described by one of my longtime neighbors as "a great place to go when you're out of your mind" and on the other side of the fresh cloud of pot smoke by the bus stop that mingles with the permanent ambient marijuana smell. I'll be the only one not drooling.

+2

Your post actually reminded me of the Marx quote that “religion is opium for the masses”. I guess our society has found it can go directly to drugging the masses.

I totally agree with you. Intoxicated people in their stupor, whatever their preferred intoxicant , are gross. Drunks and potheads both.

And, in Maryland, I have seen absolutely no change at all in behavior since the law changed. Not even any extra pot smoke, but we do love in a sfh neighborhood.

The people who smoked before are the people who smoke after.

I live in a SFH neighborhood and I've noticed a definite increase in the past couple of years. I think the behavior change anticipated the change in the law and flowed from the more ready availability with medical marijuana (since basically anyone over 18 could get a medical card if they wanted it). I anticipate there will be more of an increase, but it hasn't happened quite yet since the places are still getting set up and people are still getting used to it. And because most people that wanted to consume regularly already had the medical cards, I think the shift will take a minute.

Me neither. I know one other couple who smokes but they already were. I don’t notice any difference in people being high or smell it at all.

I smell it when I walk through Glen Echo Park on occasion. So unpleasant.
