Says someone who ignores science. Look, science doesn’t care about your opinion. That’s the beauty of it. It’s FACTual. And you are wrong. Do not give advice to others please. |
My lungs were damaged from failed surgery. I think you are really going over the top on your posts (and realize, there are multiple people who are posting). The OP asked "Are you limiting your activity" not why, not "are you crazy for walking your dog" I walked my dog and had to use my inhaler twice. My kid is at school, I don't know the status of her free time, but yesterday they were kept in doors. I'm not sure why you are yelling at people who make a different choice than you. |
Yes, the smoke has been affecting me just going outside before now, don't even plan to leave the house today if I can. |
And my lungs haven't been damaged by anything else other than allergies and borderline asthma. I have never even smoked. Some people are more sensitive than others. |
Let the anxious and the crazies stay home. The rockstars go about their business as usual |
You think a 20 minute walk makes you a rockstar???? |
Science is real, you MAGA dumb dumb! |
I was planning on a run today, but the combo of the sky looking so crazy and the very real eye irritation when I was outside briefly, made me reconsider. I’m not a “covid crazy” - it’s just a very noticeable problem with the air today. |
+1 |
Its purple now in our zip. |
I have no reason to believe that this poster is a Trump supporter. Seriously people, only DC can turn this into a political issue. You're ridiculous. Personally, I would not have my kids do outdoor activities on a red air quality day. |
I guess you don't have the money and freedom those of us who can stay home do. Go rockstar over to my lawn and mow it. |
Science doesn't care about your anxiety. We can follow science to make evidence-based decisions and adjustments to our activities based on our personal health status and risk level. Just like we could/can for COVID! The air quality today obviously warrants making some adjustments. Not the best day for an outdoor run or an hours-long outdoor party. But locking yourself and your children indoors for days if you don't have documented risk factors is an overreaction not based in science. |
Cavalier statements like this aren’t going to age well. In the western states, where fires are more common, schools and sports organizations have policies about rescheduling recess, games, and practices at certain AQI thresholds. I used to live in Hong Kong 20 years ago, same story. If/when fires start to affect the east coast more, expect your k-12 schools, youth sports organizations, and universities to follow suit. |
Policies are reasonable. Hysteria is not. |
