I think it’s a totally fair question (not a “gotcha” by any means) and would tell us a lot about that person. It would be particularly relevant with Haley, given her experience with the South Carolina state flag.

You do know she *removed* the Confederate flag from the SC capitol building - right?

What do you want, a cookie? Sorry, you don't credit for that.

But you want to give out cookies to people for saying they oppose slavery.

DP, that sounds a little bass ackwards. Don't wanna give anyone a cookie but we do wanna rightly kick people in the teeth for supporting the treasonous confederacy.

They say that now, but at the time Democrats were making common cause with pro-slavery Southerners.

Oh you poor thing, you must have been asleep for the last hundred or so times when DCUM has explained to you idiots about the Dixiecrats and how the pro segregation, pro-Jim Crow Democrats bailed and joined the GOP, like Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms, John Tower, Thad Cochran, William Cramer, Edward Gurney, Bo Callaway, and dozens and dozens of other Democrats bailed on the Democratic Party and became Republicans in the 1960s and 1970s because the Democrats embraced civil rights, while the Republicans embraced segregationists.

And how that means you are exactly wrong trying to tie current Democrats to pro-slavery, pro-segregation Democrats of long, long ago.

It’s almost impossible for a woman to take the populist lane on the right. Male candidates can cosplay as angry a**holes embracing conspiracy theories and promising to persecute the usual suspects and the populist base loves it, but that just doesn’t work well for women. They tend to get labeled as crazy or phony or both. On the right, women do better as traditional conservatives fronting for rich a**holes.

How is this presidential?

I think she is saying the school itself is the gun free zone, and thus an inviting target.

That's exactly what she's saying, but trust LWNJs to twist her words.
